... Is that there's no background music.
The sky was dark in that dreary way when clouds blocked out the sun and left everything grey and flat. Not the best day for hunting as the scenery kept prey animals on their toes. Such skittishness... It couldn't be a favourable existence living in fear, but being inedible by most hunters standards, the fox could hardly know what it was like to be on the menu. Cursico lifted one of his paws and gave a weird haired thing a poke and peered into it's flat face. It looked like one of those human things, but it was much, much too small, and it made a hollow sound when he tapped his claws on that stubby face. Just to check, the male even poked at the blue eyes before stepping back and shaking his head. "That's not not creepy." He muttered, leaving the doll where it lay. The fox clambered up one of the strange trees that had a square trunk and square markings, through a spider-webbed hole he could see a strange set-up inside and shook his head in bemusement. "No, not a tree..." He pawed at the brick and thought a while, "A cave!" Cursico laughed, proud that he had worked the strange structure out. Born wild and having lived wild beyond most human influence, he couldn't work out the strange network of structures he had stumbled on while half-heartedly chasing after a squirrel. Too bad a falcon had swooped down and taken Miss Squirrel up and away.

She didn't often wander back into human territory now that she had found Metnal and other canines that loved her, but on rare occasions she felt the pulling sensation in her heart to come back and check on her herds of sheep. They were still no longer enclosed in their pens, having escaped shortly after the two leggers demise to find fresh food and water. But she still had to check, none-the-less. The area where she did her lazy work was just off of the village, it could be seen clearly from the small huts she now stood in front of.
It was such a dreary day, but nothing could dampen the juveniles happy mood as she trotted through the remains of the village, nose to the ground. She was on the scent of something spectacular. Something so wonderful she could hardly control herself as small excited whimpers escaped through her nostrils. For the trail that she now followed could very well end at the feet of a new playmate.
She had probably only had her original plan hidden in the back of her mind, her nose being the only thing remembering what she was after as her mind flooded with images of all the fun her and her new found pal would have together. Not that these images were anything new to her. Anyone she ever came across was a friend. No matter how rude or obnoxious they were to her, she still loved them all the same. All her thoughts stopped short as her neck snapped back into an upright position, one paw still dangling in the air, her ears trying their best to stand in an upright position. The exclamation she heard still bouncing around in her head as her nose twitched frantically trying to determine just where the sound had came from.
Then, just as quickly as it came, her sudden apparent shock was gone, replaced only with a wriggling rear as she danced her way to the nearby hut where she assumed the sound came from. When she entered the doorway, she gasped loudly at the small creature in front of her."Oh my! Puppy! Are you lost? Are you okay? Where do you live? Where is your momma!" Kiyoko bombarded the small animal with questions as she trotted up to him and fell down with a plop in front of him, no fear. Kiyoko wasn't what one would call stupid, exactly. But her pure hearted oblivious bliss was indeed a force to be reckoned with. This small creature she was now laying before looked somewhat like a dog. And it was small. This was all she needed to directly assume that this little puppy was lost, being in this abandoned town all on his own.

Wandering seemed to be the life story of the young hybrid fae recently. She couldn't quite remember when she had last seen a playmate or anything resembling one. There was only so much stick tossing, and pine branch wrestling she could do alone. Dainty paws carried the lanky adolescent over the boundary of the beautifully flowered forest and into the human's habitat. A proud grin split her slender maw, tongue lolling over the enamels lining the left of her jaw. She had managed to sneak through a pack's territory without being notice. How brave she truly was! Her small frame darted to the right and then pounced to the left without much noticed, ebony claws tearing a cloud of debris from the earth's hide as she imagined avoiding the rabid canines lurking within the forest Her frame twisted into a quick half circle facing the shadows cast by the overgrowth slashing forward with a lean limb in a feline fashion, small growls echoing through her chest. This one had quite an imagination in deed.
A final, triumphant snort shot from her nares above the tip of her tongue that poked teasingly at the forest that had led her here to the village. A scent of interest filled her now cleared nasal cavities causing one brow to dip while the other raise in serious thought about its source. Both amber hued orbs, one squinted and the other round as she considered slid to view the village for the first time in her wanderings. A deep wisp of air was pulled purposefully through her inky nose, the breath held deep within her expanded chest before being puffed with great force from her lungs. This was an interesting smell indeed. The raised brow now joined the other, stitching together in serious concentration, paws dancing forward into the human habitat. Her muzzle swayed left to right following the scent closely as she pranced as quietly as she could muster into the village, trailing the fox between several huts before the scent grew so strong she thought she may explode from excitement. She did it! A mighty huntress indeed!
A moist nose touched the side of the building, head cocking slightly to the left in confusion as the trail ended. A single paw lifted, scratching against the wall lightly. A blank, confused stare came over her features and she slowly began to lower herself to her rear end when voices from inside began to tease her auds. Triangular radars pricked forward, her gaze surveying the enclosure to attempt to locate an entrance. As she lifted her nose skyward to view the top half of the structure the scent's location was found once more, and the doorway to this odd cave as well. A wolfish grin spread across dark tan lips before her small frame was lunged forward onto an old square rock that the humans must have left behind. The young wolf-dog stared intently at the window, her rear legs shifting as she prepared to make the leap. Muscles tightened before lunging the young fae forward and through the window....or partially. There she hung her front half in the hut, rear half waving in the breeze. Slightly stunned at her awkwardness she stayed limp upon the window frame gazing in with rounded eyes of surprise.

Cursico blew the cobwebs out of the way, not wanting to get his silk red pelt dirty. The old things blew off remarkably quickly, even a spiders skeleton floating down in the mess. After that obstacle was gone, the fox slid through the window as it was nothing, even his claws used to grip onto the brick were unharmed... though it was unfair, considering the age of the buildings and their deteriorated condition. Baffled by the strange cave, he crept across the floor, sniffing at the ground, trying to get past the smell of rotting wood; there had to be a floor to the cave... and cave floors were not made of wood, what utter nonsense that would be! The fox shook his head to himself, then suddenly froze on the spot, tail held in a curl where he had been flicking it. That smell... It wasn't a part of the cave, the cave was full of dust, and the scent brushing enticingly against his nose smelt so much fresher, like grass even. He was still puzzling over the mystery when something very big and white blocked the open doorway. "Gah!" Cursico cried in shock, leaping back and crouching down on the ground with his jaws open in a threat that foxes had because their lips weren't strong enough to bare teeth. The immediate suspicion he was going to get eaten was, thankfully, just a paranoid delusion.
"Oh my! Puppy! Are you lost? Are you okay? Where do you live? Where is your momma!"
The 'puppy' looked absolutely horrified at what the dog had said. Not only had he been called a pup, but she had also implied that he needed his mother. Safe to say that being chased out of his mothers territory on less than pleasant terms hadn't left them on good grounds. Regaining his composure, Cursico straightened up, regally flicking his ears back and tilting his chin up, "If you must be told, I am two years old." He rhymed haughtily, curling his thick bush tail around his dainty white paws. "As far as my species goes, I'm even re-" Poor fox didn't get to finish his sentence as yet again he almost jumped out of his fur as a canine appeared almost from nowhere- he really needed to work on his detection skills, it had to be the dusty cave wrecking his nose, he'd always been vigilant before. Like a cat, the fox leapt up, arching his back up and sticking his tail high to growl at the wolf hybrid hanging through the window, but it was too difficult to remain scared when a second later he saw someone had just gotten themselves stuck in a tight spot. It started with a mildly upset chuckle, before he started laughing hysterically, although his pose only relaxed to the point that his back didn't end in a point and his tail only stretched out horizontally behind him. "Oh Mai!" Cursico giggled.

Her mind was twirling around with all the possibilities this young canine had to posses. All the fun they could have together. Maybe he wasn't really lost, maybe he was orphaned! Oh, how wonderful that would be to dear Kiyoko. She thought, perhaps, that she could bring him back to her pack and then she wouldn't have to wander off loo...
When the small animal in front of her suggested that he was, in fact, older than she was herself, a deep sadness filled her heart. Her expression changed from a light hearted, panting, wriggling maniac to something that would have given the impression she had just been beaten' for unknown reasons. Her brows furrowed together as her orange red eyes seemed to sink into her skull. Kiyoko placed her front feet under her chest in an attempt to raise herself to a sitting position before she was stopped short. The small animal jumping nearly out of his skin forced her ears to slam against her large head as she desperately tried to figure out what she had done wrong.
It took her longer than it should have to hear the noises coming from the window. By the time she realized that another friend had gotten caught in the sill, the small canine was giggling hysterically. Kiyoko shifted her gaze from each animal before she finally followed the lead and fell back to the floorboards, laughing herself. Her large feathery tail thudding wildly on the ground. "Oh deary, do you need help?!" Her words were almost hard to understand, coming out with short breaths in between her laughter.

The expression of surprise slowly was replaced with agitation, the emotions shifting in what seemed like a slow motion replay of a sports game. Furry brows furrowed, and tan lips pursed in frustration. Light hued orbs shifted between the two figures within the cave that had exploded into an uproar of laughter...laughter at her expense. How dare they?! The fae's sides expanded and contracted quickly as hair was pulled in and forced out in a frantic rhythm attempting to calm her temper. Though fun loving this little female was quite a fire cracker when it came down to it. If possible electricity would have been sparking in an electrified aura along her frame. Finally her gaze locked upon the smaller of the two that were in hysterics over her miscalculated leap, a single aud landing upon the larger fae that had at least offered to help. Rear limbs silently shifted on the other side of the frame until her hind claws had clasped upon the rotting wood. She suddenly sprung into action, tossing her body clumsily into the structure and straight toward the fox.
With a loud thud all four limbs landed upon the wood covered earth sending clouds of dust through the room, surrounding the trio in the uplifted debris. Without any hesitation her jaws parted sending the deepest, loudest bark she could muster straight into the smallest of the group's face. Without even waiting for any of the strangers' reactions she started laughing to herself again about how terrifying she knew she was. It was embedded deep in her mind that she was just absolutely the most brave and amazing youngster out there and nobody could tell her different. To counter the ferocious bark a short furred plume danced wildly behind her partly in amusement and partly in greeting. Laughing ceased, yet her maw still held the goofy grin as the hybrid puffed her chest out and offered her calling, "I'm Navea, and who might you two be? Her tail began waving so hard at the excitement of actually meeting others long enough to learn their names that her rear paws began to lift and drop one at a time to prevent her entire body from entering the wiggle state.

His long ears tilted as he noticed those heavy near-wolf brows contract, and while he knew he was annoying the poor stuck sap, he couldn't stop his mirth from tittering through his glistening black lips and needle-point teeth. Being close to a cat in behaviour, it was inconceivable to get stuck in something like a square opening which just stayed still. What an easy target! How could one miss something like that? Those large radar ears twitched to hear the scrabbling of claws, which he could guess came from the invisible hind quarters of the stuck Canis. Looking at her highly displeased expression, he tensed, giving her an icy look with his yellow eyes, the bottoms rising up as he made a weird sort of smile that showed his sharp teeth clearly even in the dim light of the house. Going for the little foxy, how brave she must be. He thought, And here I thought something so silly as to jump and get caught in a window would have learnt to laugh at themselves a long time ago. The fox screamed in the shrill ear-splitting tone that was unique to his own species, opening his mouth as wide as it would go while at the same time his dust white paws nimbly sprang him backwards and well out of range of the bipolar hybrid. His scream ebbed down into a furious snarl that vibrated like some sort of bio-motor in his throat. He stepped back some more as it appeared the stupid female wanted to scream back in his face... though of course that sort of canine didn't scream, but the point was still the same. The infuriated fox spat and snapped his teeth together in a very clear warning. Cursico wasn't about to let a stranger come up and get in his face just because he had laughed at her for doing something foolish. The big... and probably very young white one he hadn't really formed an opinion of, but the dappled grey... He didn't like it, he didn't like it at all; and to show it, even when the female stopped coming after him and offered he name, he continued to snarl ferociously all the way through, eyes fixed on the enemy who had tried to jump at him, who had tried to get close to him. When you were only 90cm long in body, and weighed little more than a bag of sugar (Admittedly a large bag) you didn't think nothing of a much larger and aggressively posed canine coming beyond that personal bubble he had that he didn't like strangers to get into... unless they were prey he was about to sink his jaws into. His short thick legs found their way under an old table, and there he stopped moving, glaring out from under the wood and snarling for all he was worth. Cursico wasn't an easy one to befriend on the best of times.

She hadn't laughed with someone in such a long time that she wasn't even thinking of the window dogs feelings, which wasn't like her at all. She was flooded with all sorts of happy feelings. Every other dog she had known was alway so serious, never wanting to laugh or play with Kiyoko no matter how much she had it in her mind that they were. Shortly after asking window dog if she needed help, the laughter stopped. At first because Kiyoko was so out of breath that only small chuckles could escape her maw. The laughter stopped completely when window dog lept from her stuck position and released a rather loud and to Kiyoko, rather unfriendly bark. Her ears pressed against her skull as she stood, tail unmoving, eyes quickly darting back and forth between the two animals before her.
But Kiyoko completely relaxed again when window dog started laughing, too! She wasn't mad, she was just playing along. A grin etched its way along her face and she closed her eyes joyfully at the noise. Then, out of no where, her mind was in a state of confusion again as the shrill scream pierced the air around her, sending her back legs towards the door of the hut almost faster than her front legs were willing to go and a sharp squeak of her own escaping her throat. Her tail tucked deeply in between her legs as if she had just been struck. She wasn't what you would call quick, in fact, she nearly stumbled over herself in what appeared like a wobbly, clumsy, fast trot out the door. One wouldn't believe in a minute that this creature would ever have any loyalty to the fearsome Metnal pack.
As she scurried out the door, a cloud of rotten debris followed her. One large paw punctured a hole in the entrance to the hut, that was all she needed for her entire body to be sent into a tumble out onto the hard dirt ground outside. It had all happened so quickly and flawlessly that the whole scene almost appeared planned. Now laying on her stomach with all four paws sprawled out away from her body, she layed there for a moment before lifting her head and turning it back towards the two doggies inside. She faintly remembered something being said during her stunt, a name, and then a asking of a name. A large fluff of a tail thudded a few times on the ground before she replied, finally, as if nothing had happened. "Oh hello! I'm Kiyoko, yes ma'am."

The auds that had lifted as she began to offer her calling once again plastered against her skull as the shrill shriek pierced the atmosphere. Light hued eyes narrowed into a wince at the horrendous noise. From the corner of her eye she managed to see the large white dog stumbling away and then suddenly disappear. This was definitely some sort of comedy show for sure. The fur along her spine rose as the sound caused vibrations from her nerves to form under her skin. A pained gaze shifted between the vulpine and the empty entry way, brows furrowing curiously. What was going on? She was not quite sure what she should do now that apparently the game was over.
A low growl rumbled within her chest as a frustrated glare was shot at the creature hiding under the table. Several steps were taken closer to the human contraption, auds now pushing forward once more. A long, slender forelimb reached forward, small paws attempting to bat the strange looking dog in it's dark hiding spot. A sudden realization hit her causing the fae's features to light. The slender maw upon her face split into a foolish grin, tongue lolling from the side. A game of hide and seek...of course! Without warning her entire face was shoved under the table toward the fox, "I found you!!". Her voice was high pitched and broken with excitement. A thin tail whipped merrily back and forth behind her causing the air around it to whistle. That white dog was next, she would find her for sure!

Something akin to guilt touched the brutes heart at the big white ones reaction. He hadn't meant to upset that one, they hadn't gone for him. He might've been emotionally detached, but not heartless. To him, the ear-splitting scream was a natural thing, and not all that frightening. It was the equivalent of a cats hiss. The fox's tail twitched and curled up so high it brushed the top of the table, static sparking across the thick hairs. The squelch of feeding maggots somewhere inside the rotting root increased with each stroke, and in other situations Cursico would have been trying to dig them out and eat them. Seeing a paw seeking into his forte, the fox snapped warningly at it, very tempted to grab it between his needle-point teeth, but before he could catch the thing there was yet again another face in his. Another peeved scream escaped his larynx, as his paw whipped out like a catch-scratch for the hybrids nose. Too close for a stranger he'd already become edgy around. Maybe the strange human habitat had some sort of disease around it. He'd heard that humans had used to turn dogs into slaves, and humans themselves acted very strangely. Just a look around the strange wooden cave told him that in the most clear terms. "Back!" The fox snarled, lifting his fur high off his skin. "I don't appreciate the big and scary." He added on haughtily, speaking in a way that made his teeth click together at the end of each word.

A large pout crossed her features as her comment was ignored and the two inside played with one another, leaving Kiyoko out. The pout wasn't because she felt left out. It was because she wasn't in there with them to join in on all the fun! When this thought crossed her mind, she scrambled to her feet and made a wide turn towards the entrance of the hut. Her tongue now lolling out as she not so gracefully pranced back inside the darkened human quarters.
Kiyoko ignored both animals and went straight for the table that the smaller one was ducked under. She thought it was time that he stopped being a scardy-cat! She was determined to bring him out of his shell. As she neared the table, she slowed and slowly raised her front paws upon the edge of the table and pushed with all her might. She didn't realize how strong she was, or perhaps didn't realize how light the table was. It went screeching across the floor under her weight. Her paws slipped off it and before she could stop herself, her head slammed down on the wooden floor beneath. Mere inches away from the small creature that had been hiding under it. Her eyes opened and looked straight up at the small pup...er... doggie, her tongue lolled out of her mouth, collecting debris from the floor. "Hi again." She stared at him for a moment before she noticed the strange markings on his fur. She rose to her haunches as she exclaimed to him, eyes wide and the biggest smile she could make etched on her maw. "Ooh! Your fluff is so pretty. Can I touch it, can I?!" Before waiting for a response, one large heavy paw came up into the air and came crashing down on the creatures head.

A high pitched yip burst from her slender maw as the vulpine's claws made contact with her fleshy digit. Oversized auds immediately flattened and her whole frame jerked backward smashing her skull against the table in the process. To her stomach she plopped with a soft whine, her paws protectively over her damaged snout. Wrinkles etched themselves within her forehead in a puppish manner, brows stitching together above pathetically rounded orbs. Her gaze swiftly shifted toward the large white dog as she bounced back in for a good time. Before there was much time for an assessment of the larger canine she started to move the table from above the fox. Part of Navea wanted to hunt that poofy cat-dog thing and eat him up for scratching her, another still wanted to play, yet the part that got the better of her was quite nervous of the creature. The squeak of the two woods rubbing together as the table slid across the floor caused the young hybrid to leap backward. A single paw lifted waving at the other female, eyes locked nervously upon the fox, "You may not want to do that. I don't think he wants to play so much." Her observation was offered in a soft whine, the sign of her heartbreak that this foxy didn't want to be friends with her.

Cursico narrowed his eyes at the hybrid as it thankfully stopped breaching his imaginary bubble. How was he going to get away from it alive now? He flicked his tail and ran his eyes up to the window that had prooved troublesome to the cumbersome being before. That could work, the fox tensed, fully intent on getting out without a part of him missing, when the big white one pushed the table. Unluckily, he had been way back under the wooden structure, and one of the table legs snagged his, spinning the light-weight ninety degrees and leaving the candid slightly dazed from the sudden change in perspective, and not to mention a different type of yelp to join his collection. Instead of staring into the crystal blue square, he was faced with a very large head he could have happily sat upon like a seat. Blinking one eye at a time, Cursico wondered if he was going to see the end of that long tongue and beyond. Ack, if only he'd kept his eye on the other one, the two must've been working in conjunction against him! Trying to get onto his paws, but finding his injured back leg was still unhappy about getting whacked with a table and refused to move in the way he wanted it to. As it was, he only managed to stumble in front of the impending paw coming down on his head. From a dog who had the strength to send a table running away, it was like having a hammer whacked on his skull. The fox screamed horribly, the sound sharply cut off as his jaw whacked into the wooden floor. The rotten board snapped, forcing Cursico's head under the strange cave floor. At least he saw there was actually rock under the cave, although it was oddly smooth and had an even colour. Rats and insects fled from the imbedded head. "Reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaa!" The fox screamed, bad back leg collapsing completely away and lying awkwardly to the side. Those people who laughed at Karma tended to get caught in very similar situations. In a very human gesture, Cursico rose his paws over his head, only there was a big paw there, and not having opposable wrists he could only scrabble weakly at it, coughing in a haze of dust and splinters.

She hardly noticed the weight of her paw forcing the foxes head through and under the small hut. She didn't feel his small paws desperately trying to pull her foot from his head. The screams were lost to her lobes. All this massive female noticed was what happened almost immediately after placing her paw upon him. A wave of small creatures came flying out of the hole she had created with the smaller animals skull. Kiyokos eyes narrowed, smile fading from her face and she froze, every muscle in her body refusing to move as fear swept over her body. Although her paw was now laying limply on his head, it was still heavy and surely hard for him to move.
She didn't yelp or run, she only sat there until the final rat scampered out the door. A few short moments, her features came back to life as her eyes blinked wildly. She removed herself from the fox and lazily swung her head towards Navea, tongue lolling back out and the smile returned. "I like him, he's funny."
Every sign of her fear was no where to be found. She acted almost as if she didn't remember anything between when she touched him and when she lifted her foot from his head. This was because she didn't remember any of it. For one to stay this happy, fear must be something they never experience. And Kiyoko has never remembered any form of fear.
When she turned her attention back to the brute, she looked down upon him with a simple smirk on her face before leaning down to run her slobbery tongue from the top of his nose to the back of his head. With drool still dripping from her maw and landing on his head, she repeated herself."I like you! You're funny."

The depression that the young fae felt from the realization that this foxy didn't want to play with her was whipped away with the sudden shock that flooded her. It was as if everything was moving in slow motion now yet nobody had the power to stop it. Auds slowly fell backward, her slender jaw falling agape at the insanity unfolding before her. Brows furrowed curiously as the vulpine's head was seemingly crushed beneath the large, white female's massive paw. The odd noise that this creature was capable of making confirmed that he was indeed alive, which must have meant that he was well. As the creatures of the darkness began flooding from the basement of the dwelling triangular receptors perked forward. Her light orbs rounded in excitement and extreme focus. The long, thin tail held idly behind her now rose several levels sticking straight and stiff behind her lean frame. Unlike the fear that had consumed the fellow female the emergence of these critters excited Navea.
Muscles tightened under a silky pelt, her bodice coiling toward the floor before spring loaded paws lunged forward landing on a pair of medium sized rats. During her flight a happy bark filled the room, "More friends!!" The rats surely did not appreciate her game of tag as the squealed from beneath her weight. One took a nip at the hybrid's front right limb causing her to lunge backward with a high pitched yip. Nobody wanted to play with her today!
It seemed as though once she had fallen back toward the other canine the alabaster hued juvenile seemed to snap out of her fear trance. With a thud Navea fell onto her back right beside the two strangers, a quirked brow being offered questioningly as words finally broke the chaos, "I like him, he's funny." The mix wasn't quite sure who was more amusing, the fluffy big dog or the fluffy little dog. A goofy grin spread along her maw, tongue lolling to the left. "He is...", before she could finish the sentence was replaced with a snicker watching the slobber soak the fox's plush coat.
