The air in the forest was silent except for the light occasional crunch that came from beneath the wolfs large paws. Erebos was seemingly never in a hurry, there was no where to go, nothing to do. Why should he pad along the territories any faster than the slow, almost careful steps he was now taking? Through the trees, he looked fearsome. His skull was lowered, even with his shoulders, a shadow weaving it's way through the forest. Blank optics stared directly ahead, unfocused on anything in particular. Even if he was staring right at the devil himself, no one would ever know. Thick cataracts covered both of his eyes entirely, a pale blue colour that made his pupils so light that on first glance, they appeared to not be there at all. Dark wings rested tightly at his sides, as if he were trying to hide them from the world. To avoid the stares, the whispers, the curiosities. Nothing infuriated him more than that. A curse, they were. Meant to prevent him from going unnoticed.
If it weren't for the painful pangs of hunger that pierced his stomach, Erebos would lay down this instant and die peacefully. He saw no reason for life, no objective. Procreation was not something he found interest in. Friends were so few and far between, he couldn't remember the last time he had felt anything towards another canine. It would have been just before his capture. Just before the horrors of the laboratory. Back when the meaningless of life didn't matter, when life was something worth fighting for, for some unknown and unquestioned reason. Back with Caela. That life was a dream long forgotten. Even now, he wasn't sure the family he had known had ever really existed.
So here he was, making his way through the forest, under the thick canopy, no plan or objective. Forced to wander this God Forsaken island for the rest of his life alone beneath the misunderstandings that sprouted from him. The appendages that separated him from his own kind. Freak.

[bg=#2f2b07][atrb=width,460,true][atrb=border,0,true] Tiny paws pranced along the natural debris littering the forest floor, pads silently finding their way into the miniscule spaces free of fresh fallen, crunchy leaves and twigs. Her plush coat bounced freely around her small frame, a long plume swaying to and fro with each dancing step. Small, slightly rounded auds found themselves sitting proudly upon her narrow skull above bright, innocent optics. An impish smile pulled loosely at the vulpine's lips. Brezza was the image of carefree, innocence, and pure happiness. Although outwardly the little vixen seemed as if she had not a care in the world, like her life was perfection inside there was turmoil, confusion, and simply something quite off.
The sudden realization that the corsac was not alone froze the small fae in her tracks. Orbs rolled toward her left and then to her right to determine the best route of escape. Only a split second was taken as she watched the black shadow meander closer before leaping toward the closest tree. Sharp claws dug into the bark scrambling her toward the first branch that was thick enough to hold her weight. There she found herself sitting proper, front paws touching each other, and a thick banner resting easily around them. The shock and fear dissipated from her features as a steady gaze fell upon the creature as it closed in. Although all attention seemed to be locked upon the stranger, one single aud strayed from the rest of her senses. The receptor locked onto an invisible sound upon an offshoot of the fox's perch.
"You silly old fox, why were you so frightened? He's a friend not foe. Take a good look at him, watch the shadows as they shift into something magnificent. I told you he would come soon. The canid version of myself is now right before you, stupid fox. Stupid fox, say hello! Don't let him pass you by! Talk to him, befriend him now! He will be good to you just as I am." The stray ear trembled slightly as the imaginary caws filled it with encouragement and insult. That tail tightened, as if it's constricting motion would silence the aching voice of her raven friend, the raven that nobody else seemed to notice.
As the wolf approached her eyes widened in surprise noting the strange, feathered appendages laying neatly at either side. Maybe he was like Jags? Her nose reached down toward the beast, head now leaning over the branches side in interest. Was this really the "one" her imaginary companion had told her of? The surprise held her tongue captive, the words slowly bubbling just behind her larynx waiting for sweet freedom.

With his ears back against his head, the slow steps continued on through the forest. Each step overly exaggerated, appearing heavy, forcing his body to jolt with each footfall. Even though he was not really paying much attention to his surroundings, the sight movement in the trees caught his attention and he stopped all movements, one dark paw still slightly elevated over the dead foliage that lined the forest floor. There was an ever so slight movement behind the deep blue cataracts that covered his eyes. The slightly darker area, where his pupil lay just behind the deformation of his eyes moved slowly to the right side of his vision. Erebos' ears were still plastered to the back of his skull, but a slight quivering with them suggested that he was somewhat trying to focus his attention above, where the ever so light scuffling had originated from. Orbs almost seemed to darken with his mood, his brows pulling forward and downward, a scowl forming on his face before the muscles on his maw tightened and brought his lips up just enough to expose the tips of the pearly white fangs hidden within.
When he turned, the dark expression was still apparent on his features, but his canines were no longer showing. Through his vision, he scanned the canopy above him when the light scent of a female vulpine caught his attentions once more. Even though the wolf was staring directly at the small creature now, she would have never known. His orbs focused on nothing. They looked blank, dead to the outside world. He would continue this stare until she made herself known. He knew, deep down, she was ridiculing him. Staring at the dark appendages sprouting from his back. Hatred boiled within his heart as the almost overwhelming warm feeling to take charge and gain control of the situation started to ooze into his veins. Outwardly, though, there was nothing to show for these feelings. Light blue cataracts concealed his anger, the rest of his body at ease. If she didn't come down soon and make herself known, he would have to play pitiful and coax her down.
All the while, the rest of his senses kept guard, waiting for another unwanted canine to approach. He would never allow his feeling to bubble over and spew out while in the presence of anyone other than his victim. Erebos knew he was wrong to take the lives or rape others, but it never seemed to stop him. Excuses piled up within his brain. '...what right do they have to judge me?', he venomously thought to himself.

Small paws danced next to each other in anticipation of her new, approaching friend. A smiled spread along her short maw as he paused just below her perch, brown optics locking onto the shadows of his features awaiting the moment for him to actually notice her. A relatively miniscule cranium twisted to the side as the milky eyes of the black wolf were finally noticed, the excited dance pausing. Brows stitched together curiously a surprised expression pulling her lips into a straight line. The shock didn't last long, everybody was a friend to the little fox and a smile was lathered on once more. Her throat cleared to offer the seemingly blind wolf a sign that she was indeed there and she saw him. Almost as the last rolling sound was offered her lithe frame threw itself gracefully from the tree's arm and into a swan dive. Spring loaded paws landed in near silence only a measly three feet from the much larger canine.
Then it came, like a violent storm threatening to take down the island....Hi there! My name is Brezza. My friend Jags said that you were the one I was suppose to be waiting for. You're going to be the bestest friend right next to Jags of course...he said so himself! He said that you were a great wolf to have on my side...I really don't know what that means because I don't have a side...I think? What's your name? I really like your wings! They're so nifty! Jags said that he knew it was you because you had them. Jags has wings too, although they're not as cool as yours because he's a raven, don't all raven's have wings? All except dead ravens! Oh...what's your name? The words spilled non-stop without a single breath taken. A myriad of expressions touched her face as each emotion and thought was worn vividly for the world to see.

Seemingly blind optics watched her as she moved within the tree. He felt as if he could feel her rapidly beating excited heart right within his own skull and his eyes winced slightly from the pain of it all, making him enraged. It wasn't that Erebos couldn't control himself, but the small fox had really caught him in the wrong moment. He had been watching a small group of canines socialize like all the other normal ones did, knowing that if he entered in upon them, all eyes would focus and the conversations would stall. This was the reason why the vulpine couldn't have picked a worse time to be in the very same woods as he. His eyes followed her to the ground, but his head remained in the same position until the soft thud pierced his auds like she had screamed in them. She wouldn't have noticed the movements of his pupils behind the cataracts. Only in bright light could you see the movements behind the screen of grayish blue and the canopy of trees shaded the area far too well now.
The dark coloured wolf knew from the moment she hit the ground that this wasn't going to end well. He would get relief, at least from the screeching sound that escaped her maw as she bombarded him with an array of questions and opinions. If she was paying attention, she would have noticed the snarl growing with each syllable she sang out, his orbs growing slightly darker with each question and the fact that he was in more of a hunting stance now than the relaxed one he had been in moments before. Now, was only reaction. There was no thought of what he was going to do within his mind as his dark wings spread out and lifted as if to make himself more of a threatening foe. The young vulpine was now shadowed by his appendages as he released a terrifying low growl quickly followed by a bark of excitement as he lunged forward, covering the small creature with darkness, wrapping the appendages fully around her. He could feel the saliva in his maw building as he lunged his head downward, focused on her tiny skull.
This was entirely the wrong day for her to bother him.

The irritance of the wolf was noted as the words freely flowed from her jaws. Yet it seemed as if she hadn't a care in the world. The questions came, the words wouldn't stop. They were like acid leaking slowly, painfully into one's ear canal to burn their brain into nothingness. The voice became more high pitched as her nerves began to vibrate under her thick pelt. Light hued optics shifted looking around the treetops nervously before landing back upon the black beast. The reassuring words of her imaginary raven friend kept her in the wolf's presence when she should be fleeing to the nearest tree. The only shift in her body began as the large, feathered appendages spread from her verbal target's sides spreading menacingly. Her small frame threw itself into a spasms of pirouettes, paws twisting a lithe frame over the littered earth. Even if she believed the brute could see her it wouldn't matter, Brezza would do the same. The little fox had no idea as to how odd she was, or how annoying her behaviors could be. She was normal in her own mind, even if in nobody else's head.
Before she could comprehend the dangerous circumstances the light was completely blocked from view and darkness engulfed her. A sea of black caressed the vixen, soft dark fur and feathers stroking her own. Oddly enough she enjoyed the contact for the short moment before the sharpness of ivory fangs was felt on either side of her small skull. A high pitched scream attempted to find a way out of the mass of canine, notes weaving through any gap. Small paws pushed against the much larger animal, claws attempting to dig into the flesh of his chest in an attempt to snap him from his rage. The maddened snarls were tuned out, the sound of her frantic heart slowly replaced with the ghoulish cackle of a raven watching over the fiasco on the ground from an arm of a dead oak.

Perhaps the wolf only wanted to teach the tiny vulpine a lesson. Perhaps, at first, he was only trying to show her what the word caution meant. There were some dangerous canines on this island, and the fox needed to learn this. To keep her mouth shut. To remain unreachable until she knew the coast was entirely clear. Perhaps... Erebos was showing her some tough love.
Erebos really had no idea what he was doing, though. He told himself those things at first to make everything seem logical. When he grabbed ahold of her head, he didn't bite down. Grabbing her was quite enough for his anger to be released. Although, the moment his jaws slacked even the smallest amount, the shrill scream pierced his auds and vibrated within his head, forcing him to wince. Forcing the anger to boil into he depths of his orbs. This alone still wasn't enough to force him to bite down, but when her sharp claws scraped against his skin through his pelt, he lost complete control. The scrapes were hardly anything to fuss over. She didn't pierce the skin, it was almost as if he brushed past a bristle bush.
Everything seemed to pause in the world as Erebos stared menacingly at nothing at all. It really happened quite fast. His auds were still ringing from the little mongrel. Erebos closed his jaws tightly over the vulpine skull, hoping to pierce it. Hoping his canines would dive right into the center of her little brain. He stood there for a moment, with his jaws clenched, staring at nothing before he began to vigorously shake his head, sending the small fluff of fur flailing back and forth. When he released, he did so with so much force that he could have sworn he heard the trunk of the tree splinter from the small form.
He looked at her for a moment, a uninterested look spread upon his face before his neck shot back wards and a terrifying howl of victory escaped his lungs. It was quite short lived, afraid someone else might see him here, it was cut off. He glanced once more at the seemingly lifeless form near the base of the tree before turning, folding in his dark wings and making his way in the same direction he had originally been going, as if nothing at all had happened.
