It had been a few days since the merger of Elysian and Barzakh. Things had been running smoothly, at least from Silas' standpoint. He couldn't understand why he wanted to be Beta, aside from the fact he wanted to be there for Typhoon and be a friend. He almost felt sorry for the alpha, after all that's happened to him. Here he lay on a rock, sitting on the borderline of Barzakh territory. His dark paws crossed in front of him, his head resting on his large paws. His pale brown eyes scanned his surroundings, before finally pulling himself up on all fours. He shook out his bi-colored pelt and stretched out every muscle in his body. He looked around, then jumped off the rock with a small crunch from paws landing on a pile of dead leaves.
She kept his head low and auds alert to every sound. He slowly padded into the forested area and down a path he'd beaten in himself. He smirked at the scenet of fresh water. He needed a drink, badly. He moved a bit faster and came to Gekido River. He licked his maw and stood on a larger rock, that was in the water and bent down to drink. He lapped quickly and quietly, keeping alert and turning his ears back and forth, honing in each sound. He needed a moment of peace before returning to pack duties. He lapped a few more times before straightening up. "Much better." He mused, lifting his head up, keeping it naturally low.
His thoughts trailed back to the newcomers they came in. His thoughts focusing in on a certain snow colored wolf. He couldn't help but give a smirk at the thought of her. It was nice to have some other wolves around. Sure he didn't mind coyotes, but the strange dogs unnerved him. Though Typhoon, being one of them, didn't bother him as much. He seemed to almost sympathize for the brute. But at the same time questioned his motives. He shook out his pelt and then movement caught his attention. His pale eyes shifted in time to see a small fish dart around the rock. He perked up, feeling a small rumble in the pit of his stomach. "Looks like my lucky day. I don't have to work for my food today." Silas couldn't help but grin and almost practically jump for joy. He didn't feel like going for big prey today.
He tensed his muscles, jumping to another rock, seeing as the fish had paused for a moment. He growled softly, bending down, ready to pounce. He waited for a moment, then leaped into the water. The fish darted at his movement and his dove, shoving his maw into the water. He snapped, grazing the fish. He growled in frustration and chased the fish, making loud splashes, not caring about stealth anymore. He dove again, this time catching the fish between his teeth. He raised his head, flailing fish in tow and stood proudly in the rapids. He moved back to his previous rock and laid down to eat.
Life was good.

Most would be completely uncomfortable whether they were loners before or as in Caela and Crow's situation, from a different pack. The feeling of confusion, of emptiness, of starting over was something that this wolfess had dealt with time and time again within just the last couple of years. There was one thing that she had decided to change due to the most recent change in her life, and that was to not become too attached. Everybody and everything she had ever found a fondness for, every had feelings for, just simply up and vanished each and every time. All that she became close too simply turning into smoke and evaporating into the atmosphere taunting her with every chance they got. How well this new found plan would work for the alabaster fae was still quite unknown, though things did not look promising. Caela was not a callous creature, and becoming one would be the most difficult feat she would ever have to face. She saw the good in everybody, even those who had killed the Elysians and maimed the poor young coyote she traveled along side.
Many would have been moping about, especially sensitive creatures such as herself. Yet this was not the first time she was the newcomer having to learn the areas of new lands. There was no hesitation. Upon their acceptance into the Barzakh pack she had made herself busy by exploring every nook and cranny the territory had to offer. Today was no different. Dainty paws seemed to dance across the forest floor, managing to avoid any debris that would give away her position. Her white coat flowed freely around a lithe frame as the breeze cut through the trees and played within the strands. Often it seemed as if the fae was nothing more then a phantom of the forest weaving its way between the tall wooden soldiers, only the sound of her frame fighting against the wind whistled during her journey.
Through her travels many scents were picked up on, most brand new aromas of strangers turned family. One familiar smell began to tease her nares pulling her toward it's source. Subconsciously anything familiar was what she sought out, no matter if there was only a single meeting prior. It was not long before the femme reached the border of forest and clearing, the imaginary fence line stopping her in her tracks. Icy optics shifted along the river bank curious as to exactly where the owner of that scent was hiding. Before she could even finish considering his location the loud splashing of water and muffled growls caught her attention, tiara spinning around to focus on the area where the sounds were originating. A gentle smile drew pale lips skyward, her entire canvas lighting with amusement at the site of the darker wolf attempting to catch the pesky fish. Velvet lined auds twisted around in a silent survey of the area before locking upon the now soaking wet brute who had just begun to lounge upon a rock and prepare to dine on his prize.
Without much consideration on his possible reaction to her so close to his meal, long slender limbs pulled her toward him in typical silent method. As she drew close to his rear a chiming of lyrics found their way toward him, "Those were some impressing techniques, I must say. I never was very good at fishing myself." There was a hint of teasing laced within her words, yet the sweet tone would make it difficult for most to take offense.

Silas laid contently on the rock that overlooked the rapids. He gnawed on the fish carcuss, looking down at the water, in case the fish didn't fill him up enough. His auds perked and turned back to try and pick up any strange sound. Though the scent was what caught his attention first. The bi-colored brute lifted his head and his pale mud colored eyes looked around, searching for the source of the smell. He found nothing and continued eating, though the familiar scent made his fur bristle and a shiver run through his lean muscled body. His dark paws curled around the half eaten fish as he gnawed on a bone, before tearing off the rest, leaving a skeleton. He ate quickly, something he learned from his days alone. The smell of food drew many animals. He had an encounter with a bear when he was younger and would like not to let it happen again.
He chewed on the bone, holding it now between his jaws again. His auds perked to the sound of a familiar voice. His mud colored eyes shifted and landed on the delicate frame of the snow colored wolf he had been so interested in. He dropped the skeleton and raised himself up on his feet again. "Why thank you, Beautiful. When you've wandered alone for most of your life, you get a lot practice and pick up on a few things." He replied, his dark lips pulling back into a grin. "If you want, I can teach you my techniques. It's a lot less stressful than taking down a deer or elk." He added, shaking his pelt and tilted his head.
He glanced toward the water where another fish darted out into the rapids. Without thinking to ask, he leaped into the water and dove, grabbing the fish, effortlessly between his jaws. This one wasn't as fast as the first, which pleased him. Grinning proudly, Silas hopped back up on the rock and set the now dead fish on the rock beside him, nudging it with his nose toward the fae. He smirked and watched her, waiting to see if she took or rejected the fish. It was easy to say that Silas had taken a liking to the fae, and was doing everything he could to impress her. Sure it was a bit forward, but Silas really had no shame and was very open about everything.
He nudged the fish again, keeping his eyes on her, licking some blood off his maw, trying to appear decent to her. He took a step back and looked away, giving her some privacy. He watched a bird hurtle out of a nearby bush and then turned his gaze to the sky. He wondered what brought her here, he was sure she wasn't looking for him. Or was she?

Brows dipped causing a ripple of fur where the skin along her forehead creased in curiosity as a crystalline gaze dropped from him to the nearly empty area now between his dark, front paws and back up to his light brown optics. There wasn't much left of the fish, perhaps that was why he was being so cordial. Regardless of the reasoning his words forced her to steal back a single step distancing herself slightly. A slender maw found itself tucked into the long, plush fur of her chest in the same instance that her gaze darted away. If it were possible for a wolf to blush her cheeks would be tinted a pale rose hue now. Caela didn't take well to compliments even if it were just a common, general statement being offered. Most would be referred to as sweetheart, love," beautiful" or a myriad of other names out of sheer kindness. But such things always caused her to shy away like a little school girl talking to their first crush.
That soft smile stayed plastered upon her face as proof that she wasn't offended or really trying to get away from him. The shy, embarrassed part of the wolfess was simply pushing itself to the forefront. Before she had the option of responding to his explanation and kind offerings he was already out within the rapids of the rushing river. Curiosity now replaced the bashful demeanor, several ground covering strides bringing her light frame closer to the water's edge. A feminine skull tipped off balance as she watched how easily he seemed to snatch the fish from it's watery hiding place wondering to herself why she had never tried such things. Heck, Caela had never even feasted on fish before. Almond shaped eyes watched as Silas brought his catch back to shore, the gaze following the fish as it slapped against the large rock.
An offering? It had been quite some time since she was offered another's kill. Icy blue irises washed up to meet his simply locking upon them as the memories of the last time this scenario played out within her life. It had been long ago, one of the first memories she could manage to remember, and the prey was a hare rather then a fish. Yet it seemed to be so familiar, as if she were reliving that exact day. Triangular radars pushed forward to their fullest extent as she contemplated her next move. Should she go along with this deja vu? Should she turn away now? It was quite possibly against her better judgment, but her bodice continued to devour the distance between the two lupine. Dainty paws scaled the boulder, a moist, inky digit gently touching the brute's side in a grateful gesture. Slowly her body was lowered to the cool rock placing the scaly meal between two perfectly white paws. Her attentions were still upon the dark hued male, "Practice makes perfect, no? That was a flawless catch, my friend." Pupils refocused upon the fish, radars still concentrating on the fellow canine, "Are you sure you do not wish to eat your catch?" Caela didn't realize how hungry she really was until the food was right before her. Yet, she didn't feel completely comfortable accepting such gifts.

A grin pulled at his dark maw as he watched her tuck her head away. He knew his comment had triggered such a bashful gesture. He was proud of himself, he actually got an acceptable reaction. He figured his forward, flirtatious atttude would earn a scoff or a confused question. He was glad he made a good impression. He bowed his head, keeping a distance so she could eat in peace. His fur bristled when her paw connected with his side. He did a full bow in respect as a response. Anything to please the fae. His head tilted as he watched her settle down on the rock to eat. A light, slightly deep laugh reverberated from his broad chest at her comment.
"Apparently so. I've had a lot of practice. Though that fish wasn't as quick as the first, so it was no effert at all." He replied, lightly shaking his musky pelt, relieving it of any remaining water. His grin dropped at her question. His right ear twitched from the breeze and he looked almost hurt. "No, I caught it for you. The fish is all your's, unless you're wanting to share." he said softly. His voice smooth, , but a little deep. It came out a little breathy, seeing as how the question stung him. Did she not see that he caught it for her and her only. He had his meal, it was her turn. He wanted to be a gentleman for once.
He collapsed on the rock, crossing his paws in front of him. He rested his head on his paws, his light brown eyes staring up at her. "Do you not want it?" Silas asked, looking worried. He could easily get something else if the fish didn't please her. Maybe he was trying a little too hard and coming on a little too strongly. He mentally kicked himself. He didn't want to be too overbearing. He shook his head, his ear twitching again and looked off into the woods. Deciding it was best just to remain quiet.

In no way did she mean to offend or hurt his feeling. Optics rounded, her mouth splitting slightly as she considered how it would feel to be in his paws before an apologetic smile replaced her shocked expression. Ever so slightly her crown shifted left to right as the words began to flow, "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it as it must have sounded. I am very appreciative, but just wanted to be sure you did not want any as well. I don't like to not share is all." The carcass of the fish was shifted slightly between dainty front paws before she lowered toward it. Jaws split allowing ivories to pierce the scaly flesh with an audible pop and crunch. A good size chunk of the fish was stolen from the rest of it's frame only to be methodically dropped directly beside her.
A moist nose nudged it slightly toward him before turning her attentions to the remaining portion. If he wished to have a share he was welcome to it, but Caela wouldn't force the issue. A crimson muscle ran along her maw tracing pale lips. She quite liked the taste and was rather disappointed that she had never tried fish previously. A low grumbled twisted her stomach as her hunger became obvious to herself only at this moment It had been some time since she'd eaten and only now that the fresh taste of food was upon her lips did she pay any attention to the nagging stabbing of her stomach. It didn't take very long for the entire fish to vanish into the depths of her body, although she attempted to keep her eating habits as lady like as she could muster. As soon as the last morsel was devoured she began to clean herself of any stray fluid she had managed to get upon her plush pelt.
Icy optics found the brute's face once more just as her weight was thrown to the side allowing her the opportunity to sprawl out upon the rock and relax. Relaxing was yet another past time that had escaped her since Elysian members began to go missing, and it was oddly comfortable right there in the larger wolf's shadow. She was silent only for a short moment before she began to question him, "So, Silas," she paused just for a moment before confirming she had his name correct, "It is Silas right?" Caela never did trust herself with anything in her memory no matter how certain she was of it, and with good reason. "How long have you been with Barzakh?" Slender limbs stretched further from her body, arching her spine as she patiently awaited his response.

He kept his head rested on his large paws. He watched Caela, carefully. His auds rotated back to focus in on sounds behind him. His pale eyes shifted left and ride, carefully. He lifted his head and shifted his wait, pushing up slightly on his front paws., half sitting, half laying. He tilted his head as she nudged the carcass toward him. He pushed his ears down, hesitantly. She had apologized for making him think she didn't want the fish and he accepted it with a small nod. He carefully moved and picked the half eaten carcass up in his maw, laying back down and placing it upside down between his large, dark paws.
His pale brown eyes watched her, before biting down and tearing off a decently sized chunk, leaving a chunk im between. He chewed slowly, then tilted his head back and swallowed. He then pushed the rest back to Caela. He wanted to share it, but he didn't want to eat the rest of it. He wanted her to have a larger amount. He licked the blood from his maw and grinned. He often prefered fish, this would be considered weird amongst other wolves. But it was what was most accessable when he was living on his own. It was tough bringing down a deer or elk on his own. He grew up on fish, though now he was a bigger and stronger brute, he could probably take down a deer more easily now.
He licked the rest of the blood away and rested his head again. He kept his pale gaze on her and smirked. "Yes, it's Silas. At your service" He pulled himself to his feet and gave a slight bow, keeping the smirk on his maw. He shook out his pelt, rotating his auds back and forth, focusing on every little sound. "I've been in the Barzakh pack for about four months now." He replied, simply. He laid back down, relaxing on the rock. He stretched one leg out and tucked the other under him. He rested his head on the rock and watched her, He then closed his eyes, simply listening to the sound of the rapids.

She watched in amusement as he bowed offering his services in what seemed to be a playful gesture. Front limbs stretched further forward, each toe spreading in a stretch before her weight was pushed to her side. That nearly see through gaze danced across his features as she joked merrily with him, "Being the Beta of the pack shouldn't I be the one bowing to you, my highness?" A teasing smirk traced along her maw replacing the friendly smile as a single brow quirked. In reality Caela wouldn't mind actually doing such things to higher figures. She was a wolf after all and pack rankings were something simply bred into her and others of their kind. Power meant nothing to her, and she had never desired such. She was much to standoffish when it came to confrontation, and she always feared she would lose even more memories then since what she could only assume to be an accident.
She didn't respond at first to the length of time he had found Barzakh to be home simply allowing nature to fill the void of voices. Eyes closed part way in a relaxed state, yet not completely shutting out her surroundings. As she watched his closed lids the sound of the nearby rapids splashed through her mind with the background music of nearby song birds. Oddly enough she felt at peace for the first time for as long as she could remember. There was no more worry, no more sadness. There was just her and what she considered to be a new found friend and mother nature enjoying an afternoon together here by the river.
As was typical her mind couldn't stay calm and relaxed for long, soon thoughts began to rush through her mind just like the nearby flow of water. Alabaster shades rose slightly to a more alert position just before a whisper that was barely audible escaped her larynx afraid that if he had fallen asleep that she'd wake him, "Were you alone long before joining? What made you decide to join Barzakh?" Some may consider her nosy, but the wolfess meant no harm in her questioning. She was simply curious as to who this dark gentleman was and what better way then to ask questions?

His auds rotated forward, alert to a sudden sound. A small animal had scampered across the ground. It was a small sound, but he had heard it over the sound of the rapids. He turned them back, laying them almost flat against his skull. His pale brown orbs turned back to the fae. He couldn't help but smirk when he saw her smile, Maybe he was doing better than he thought. True, but I guess it should be mutual." He replied, softly. He looked around and rested his head on his paw, his weight pushed to the side, laying flat against the rock, only his front half was upright. He watched a sliver of silver flash through the water. He'd had his fill of food for now.
He glanced back at Caela, looking down at her question. He didn't find her nosy, but he didn't really like to talk about his past. ]"Well I've been a lone since I was pup. My earliest memory was of growls and whines and hurried yellss. Before I even knew what was going on, everyone was gone." He replied, looking away, getting lost in his thoughts. He stared off into nothingness, letting out a low sigh. He wished he could find his family. But he knew it was probably too late. He mentally shook it off and closed his eyes, listening to every little sound again.
He opened one eye and looked toward Caela, cuirous as to what her reaction would be. Considering what had happend to her old pack before the merger, his past failed in comparison to hers. He looked away again, thinking more. He hoped he didn't bring down the mood. He had said too much. He sighed and turned his body away from her, laying on the edge of the rock and watching the water. He wouldn't blame her if she simply walked away now. It must have been nothing new to her considering what she's been through. He closed his eyes and sighed heavily.

Her crystalline gaze watching his features closely. Caela liked to read emotion, it told so much more than any set of words could ever say. There was still pain in the memories he held, the first that he had recollection of. Her crown tilted slightly to the side as she considered his words, allowing the silence to engulf the pair once again. It took some time before that soft, whispered voice shyly entered the distance between them, "I'm so sorry to hear that. It must be awful to have those be your first memories." Caela's mind could be considered a blessing or a curse depending on the situation. Most memories held no distinct feeling any longer. She felt pain when left first by her guide, and then all that followed him. But now there was nothing but a clean slate. Surely it was possible for the pain to be conjured once again, but now was not that time.
Front paws stretched out pulling her along the rocky ground into a belly crawl. She finally paused, resting her chin on her front paws a black nose only inches from the brute's shoulder. Light blue orbs fastened themselves upon the side of his face. Why had he turned away from her? Was he ashamed of the pain? Furry brows stitched together as she curiously watched him. The empathy that over powered the wolfess many times was exactly why she had taken the healer role within pack life. Not wanting to force him to dwell on such things she offered encouragement, "Typhoon seems quite pleasant, as does the rest of the pack. I'm sure you'll find yourself at peace here with them. Eventually the pain should fade as you add more closeness into your life." A smile lit her face once again with a quick chuckle, "Or at least that's what I've been told happens to normal canines."

The figure moved slowly through the thick canopy of trees, his silhouette flickering through the uncommon openings appearing as if he were a blackened ghost searching for something that he himself was unsure of. At the moment of his departure from the rhyming coyote who had first crossed paths with him, he ventured across the bridge that now connected where he was and where he is. It took a long while for anything to become familiar to him, though. He wasn't expecting this side of the island to be something he ever remembered but the moment he crossed into the old territories he once roamed, the dreams all came back to him. Slapped him across the face and brought him back to reality. His past was real. The faces, scents, family. All of them were no longer here but came to his mind, out of the fog and just as real as if he had just seen them yesterday. What had happened here? There were few scents of wolves now, everything cluttered with the despicable scent of domestics.
Refreshed with a new sense of meaning, of determined curiosity, Erebos ventured far to the opposite side of the island. Half seeking things he had lost long ago and half escaping the putrid scent of the laboratories. Although the latter was next to impossible. The scent of antiseptics, fear and death remained etched into his pelt as if it were his very own scent now. No one else could smell these things though, it was all in his head. All a memory of what happened. A memory that still seemed even more real than the trees he now weaved through. Auds were laid back against his head, apparently blind orbs looked at nothing and large dark feathered wings clung tightly to his sides as if he were trying to force them into his own body. His lithe frame moved casually through the forest.
It took a long while before the dark wolf showed any interest in his surroundings. Although he was searching for answers, he was doing so with minimal enthusiasm. Mostly because his stomach churned at the thought of coming in contact with someone he knew previously. He had changed. Not only outwardly, but his mind had become a putrid pool of hate for those who noticed his differences. It would be a hard decision to make if he were approached by someone he knew and cared for previously. He imagined the feelings returning for them, mixing with the undeniable wants that were now constantly with him for murder and mayhem.
His expressions were blank all around for a long time, but the moment they came to life, his vision seemed to blur and narrow. He paused rather quickly as an array of physical features lifted. Cataract covered orbs flicked up wards and scanned the forest before him, auds perched high on top of his head and his dark wings released their grip on his body slightly. He stood for a moment, not breathing, not a muscle moving in his body until it came to him once again. The muffled voices. Laughter. A light familiar scent. Cautiously, he approached as if he were stalking prey. Silent footfalls landed on the earth, hardly disturbing the rotting foliage beneath his large paws.
It took no time for him to reach the sounds. He watched the forms through the thick fog of ash, circled them. His blank orbs never left the white frame of his interest. It was hard, if not impossible to see or smell anything in the suffocating ash but once he rested assure that what he heard before him was something reaching out of one of his dreams into the physical world, he stopped. He was directly behind the fae as he approached and purposely crunched the dead and fallen leaves and twigs in front of him. Through the ash, the pair of wolves would be able to see little of him. His face and forelegs would stand out quite visibly while the appendages he wished would vanish at this very moment did so, hidden behind the thick ash in the air.
He had no idea who the male wolf was, he had never seen this one before. Normally he would observe the relationship, body language. Now, he was only concerned with one thing, though. "Hello, Calea.". This was all he offered. He had changed since she knew him. Lost weight, he appeared blinded. But the most significant change would be hidden until she took a step toward him. Instinctively after he uttered the words gruffly, his wings once again pushed into his frame, trying to shy away from the eyes that would soon pierce him.

He kept his pale eyes closed, trying hard to will away the painful memories. He had no recollection of what his family looked like, he only knew their names. But that wouldn't be enough if he ever tried to find them. They were probably long gone by now. Once the last of the images faded from his mind, his eyes opened and turned back to the fae. She had moved and he suddenly tensed as he noticed just how close she was to him. He couldn't move without touching her now. His pelt bristled in slight alarm. He had been so wrapped up in his memories, that he had almost forgotten about her presence. Though he had heard her speak. He was comforted by her words and offered a gentle smile.
"Yes, Typhoon is a great leader and friend. He's pretty much helped me forget about my past and start anew. Though there are times where my dreams haunt me. But that's normal for any troubled canine." He replied, softly. He raised himself up off the rock, his dark auds turning toward the forest. His pale mud colored eyes hardened and his muscles tensed under his pelt. He tucked his lithe frame in, his long limbs held close together, tail straight out. His dark maw split into a harsh snarl, revealing long, ivory colored teeth. They weren't alone.
He breathed in, slowly. His snout burning from the dense ash that had slowly surrounded them. He hadn't noticed it until the wind picked up. But very subtly beaneath the ash was the scent of another wolf. He tried to determine the scent, but it was futile. He looked through the ashen clouds that hung around them and noticed a face and dark limbs. He muscled tensed up to a point where it hurt to stay still. His musky flaxen pelt bristled along his spine. He had always been quick to anger, but he had enough sense to wait rather than charge in blindly.
The strange wolf seemed to only acknowledge Caela. This caused a fierce growl to erupt from deep within his chest, almost echoing. It may not have been said, but Silas was attached to this fae and wouldn't let another brute harm or take her away. He lowered his head, but not in respect, in warning. He kept his gaze on the brute, waiting. They seemed to know each other. This didn't bother him too much, at least not yet. He needed to know more. As the brute conversed with Caela, he studied the third wolf's frame. He barely made out what appeared to be wings sprouting from his spine. Silas pulled his dark brows together in obvious confusion.
Questions began to flood his mind. Who was this wolf? How did he know Caela. Why does he have wings, is he dead? Where was this ash coming from? The last question may have been more important, but right now his mind was on other things. He'd have to speak to Typhoon later on about the ash and what it's origins were. For right now, he'd focus on the task at hand.

Pale lips began to tighten as the reality began to saturate her company's features once more as the memories slipped away into the depths of his mind. She was pleased to see him back to himself and the pain blocked for the moment. She didn't like pain whether it were her own or another's. Such was the way of a peaceful wolfess it seemed. The slow descendance of ash was barely noticeable now that it took so long to encroach on the meeting place of the pair of lupines. However the sky was becoming darker, the billowing clouds slowly creeping across the once bright blue sky. Shadow was taking over the lands. For Caela it seemed nothing other then time getting away from her until the wind picked up bringing with it fire to scorch her lungs with each inhale as her body sought that sweet, fresh air that the island was known for.
It seemed perfectly in sync with the rise of the brute to his paws when she noticed the difference in the atmosphere. Her elegantly placed frame refused to move as widened optics followed the darker wolf's movement upward. There was confusion and a hit of fear dwelling within the crystal pools placed within the wolven canvas. Felt lined radars fell against her skull as the thought of what a horrible feeling could be created by, how could something scorch her so wickedly within the protection of her own body? Was it her? Was there something wrong with her? The minute twitches of the mascu's nasals reassured the fae that she was not the only one, yet he seemed as if it were not much bother.
The stream of thoughts were then interrupted by a voice distantly familiar calling to her from behind, "Hello, Caela." A narrow bodice jolted to it's full height, swiveling upon dainty paws to face the darkness from which the lyrics sounded. Triangular soldiers hesitantly rose to attention, as that wide-eyed gaze searched the thick clouds of ash. Furry brows slowly drew nearer to one another as the dark figure made an appearance, skull automatically tilting in confusion. So familiar, yet so different. Was this one of those haunting dreams of her past that seemed so real...or were those dreams indeed reality? Lengthy limbs stretched forward pulling the wolfess from the large boulder and onto the plush greenery, her frame moving fluidly as it maneuvered mirroring the rushing water just feet from them.
A feminine skull rose and pulled slightly back as her gaze searched what she could indeed see of the newcomer. Confusion was apparent upon her features as she searched the small index of her mind as to who this could possibly be. There was that inevitable feeling that this was somebody she knew, this was somebody she had been searching for, but that damned malfunctioning brain of hers would not offer her any answers. A simple nod toward him in response to the greeting was began yet halted mid-motion. Slender jaws fell slightly agape as she stared in near awe, plume raising several notches behind her in the only proof of the excitement bubbling within her veins. After what seemed like forever the name was offered in the form of a question, "Erebos?"

Cataract covered orbs lowered to the ground the moment the words escaped his maw. He was completely unsure how he would handle this situation, it was the feeling of dread that overwhelmed him and made his mind twist with confusion. Erebos wasn't one that could be considered sociable, especially at this stage in his life, but he did well considering all the factors against him. Right now, he was literally lost for words, completely unsure of how to approach further. A guttural pang of fear stabbed at him at the thought of seeing one of, what he considered, his own showing the same curiosities on their face as the hundreds of others whom he had fled from, killed or raped in the past years. It was almost exhausting to ignore it, but that is exactly what he did. What was to be seen, will be seen. The aftermath of revealing everything now was in no way in his control.... but then again, neither was his reaction to it.
The tension in the air seemed to thicken. It wasn't only the scent of agitation from the other male wolf now, but the growl that bounced through his chest made it all that more apparent. Erebos didn't look at the brute directly. His eyes flicked upwards and looked slightly to the left of the brown brute. Because he was unsure of this whole situation, Erebos decided that playing blind was going to be the easiest way to go. It was unfair for Erebos to let them know all his secrets after all. One black lip quivered slightly, revealing one sharp canine tooth, no sound was given though along with it. Erebos could see the male as clear as day to the side of his vision though the brute would not know now... if ever.. that the black and grey wolf had perfect vision. He would assume blindness like all the others and thus is would make him assume that Erebos was inferior to him. Which was perfect.
When he heard his name, though, instinctively the pale blue optics shot over towards the white fae, looking at her directly in her own eyes. This mistake was short lived, though. Erebos couldn't be quite sure even himself that he had looked at her. Orbs adjusted on a tree to her right and several yards back from her before he spoke. It would be best not to look at her now. "You could say as much...", he started, almost with a dash of amusement in his voice. With that pause, one black foot stepped forward. The three others followed quite gracefully. It took all of his efforts not to stare the familiar face down, to take in all of the expressions, to feel the much more familiar feelings.. much darker feelings arise within his gut and engulf his body. Several steps were made before the brute paused and allowed whatever was going to happen, happen. "...But it has little meaning.", the amusement vanished as he finished his sentence. The words were whispered loud enough for everyone to hear. There was a gruffness in his voice that suggested his heart was being overwhelmed with emotion but in reality, the uncontrollable salivations that arose all too often just before his wants overtook his mind and body were seeping down his throat.
Large dark wings hung more comfortably at his sides now, there was little sense in trying to hide them within himself at this moment. He wasn't going to put on a show like he did with Kynthia, the coyote. This felt as if it needed to be a little more of a delicate operation. Erebos couldn't kid himself. Despite his efforts to not see, to really be blinded, he would need to lose all of his senses altogether not to know exactly what each reaction from each canine was.
