[bg=666666][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=background,http://i48.tinypic.com/4j17yu.png] A Pharaoh Hound stood at the edge of the marsh. Her amber-red eyes glaring into the green, mushy waters that inhabited Tartarus territory. The Sphinx felt bitter today. Her maw formed a frown, with she had her tail droop at quite a low level. It was yet, one of those boring days, when you had nothing to do. Hunting was out of the question, the hunt was already earlier today. To let some steam off, the Pharoah Hound just relaxed.
The Sphinx let her bottom drop. meeting the hound. Her front followed, coming down just on the edge of the marsh. Her nose just close enough to touch the dirty water if The Hound even wanted to feel the wet algae that had grown on the top.
Dare I try to even touch the gross water? Sphinx wondered. Red hues of orbs scanned the area if eyes lay upon. She could tell some optics that were burning into the dog. A weird feeling overcame her, being followed by the bitterness that washed it off. Her, being bitter and stubborn, persisted in touching the water. Her thirst bothered her to the very least now.
The Pharaoh Hound tipped her snout forward. Taking a small breath before dipping her nose into the seamlessly icky water. To her surprise, the hound felt coldness, the algae only grew at the top. It didn't seem very icky now, Sphinx went ahead and lapped up some water, not caring if anybody really watched. It felt good.

Carefully one paw rose from the ankle deep muck only to be planted within the squishy earth a moment later. Slow and steady the mahogany brute made his way carefully along the swampy paths. The tarnished gold of his gaze surveyed the land as if belonged to him. The long thin whip cord of his tail held high even as it swayed with a lazy arrogance. He could have been walking through a flower bedecked field for all the attention he paid to the muck that occasionally clung to a limb. Folded soldiers stood forward as the sounds of a tongue lapping against the murky waters surface reached toward him carried on the afternoon breeze.
Blacken nasals quivered as he drew a fae's scent in deep into his lungs through the sensitive membranes lining his smoky masked visage. Caution over rode the brutes actions as he continued forward slowly rounding the bank that shielded his view of an Egyptian lady daintily drinking from the chilly waters depths. Well now this was an interesting development to the day, came the wayward thought. Shifting from cautious to casual the male stepped into view with a light clearing to his throat. "Mm now I must say, there's a sight ya ain't likely to cross everyday." In the depths of that low rumbling voice one could find the traces of a lazy country drawl.
Several yards off the Ridgeback stood with a slight smile crossing his dark muzzle, apparently completely at ease with his surrounding he stood poised, watching the slender femme with a guarded friendliness. Dominance lined every well toned muscle that made up the red amber male thick frame. The splash of snow marring his chest shown brightly against the darker expanse behind, puffed out while that cranium was lifted high to match the angle of that whip like tail. In silence he waited for her reaction, whatever it maybe.

[bg=666666][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=background,http://i48.tinypic.com/4j17yu.png] Optics slowly closed as the Pharaoh Hound silently lapped up from the cold liquid. The water, now clear of algae and almost free of the green, unaware of the dog that would come and greet her.
The sound of a 'glop' in the muck raised much attention, as the Hound raised her snout, only to raise her hard amber optics on a dog; more importantly Dante. Sphinx formed a small grin. It amused her a bit.
Mm now I must say, there's a sight ya ain't likely to cross everyday.
The grin was still plastered among her face, as the Pharaoh Hound stood up gracefully. A brow raised, her tail in a curved position, slightly above the ground, "My, my Dante what a surprise. It's not that bad if you actually try it." It was obvious that she was in a good mood. Her tone of voice gave it all away. A light pink settled among her ears and nose. It was natural to be this way, for when a Pharaoh Hound was actually happy or excited. It would be called 'blushing' to many. Her maw opened again, using that same delicate voice in which she used most of the time, "Just pick the right place, hun" She a bit older, though she constantly used it on everybody. Most dogs thought her as more 'mature' than the majority that way.

A low chuckle escaped the brutes mew as he spoke, "I'll be tak'n your word for it darl'n" Tension would bleed from the canines muscled frame. The fae happened to be in one of her rare good moods which meant in short, he didn't have to walk in the shoes of a diplomat to avoid setting her off. Thick pillars would lift with the shifting of his weight drawing him closer towards the bank where Sphinx sat. Soon those large paws would find purchase upon the solid earth. Powerful muscles clench while his momentum carried him to her side then beyond several feet where a vigorous shake would be indulged in.
Eventually the tremors would ceases as he returned his attention to the Hound. "If'n I may be ask'n, what's brought ya way out here?" The tarnished gold of his ever alert gaze drifted across the swampy terrain. Just because they were upon their own lands did not guarantee safety in this canines book. There were plenty of other dangers besides four legged beasts. Quick sand for one, the long cold blooded reptiles for another.
Eventually though that steady mischievous gaze would once more fall upon the Pharaoh, a half smile crossing blacken tiers. She was a pretty thing, if you went for the slender type, he supposed. Of course she was a year older then he himself was. Nor did he actually know anything of her history, which was curious, since he'd made a point of learning at least a little something about everyone of his pack mates.

Small ripples seemed to under pass the thick moss that danced above the water's edge. A dark liver reflection seemed to glow off the water's edge before it leaned down closer. Slowly it flasked it's pink tongue to the water, letting the cool liquid ran down her throat. A few minutes passed before the being stood up, thick and powerfully built legs leaned it's frame upwards, ears pulled back some.
The wind was a tease for the veteran army dog as she leaned her head upwards, her nose twitching to capture the scents around her. Between the thick mossy scents she was able to decipher that of two canines, a bit south of where she stood at that very moment. Yes she hadn't met up with any one of the dos from the lab the day they had escaped, the day that bombs killed two of her squad members, those that had been stolen aswell.
With a small sigh the 27'' inch to withers female shook her head, that liver coat seemed darker then before since day's had passed since she had attended to it. It's short fur had small burs here and there from the previous days of walking about the wilderness that surrounded the lab. " Atleast the day is quite nice. . . A good omen. . ." Niveda muttered to herself as she walked through a thick bush, the green leaves sliding across her liver colored muzzle and body.
Her head appeared on the other side before she squeezed the rest of her body through, the branches reluctant to let go because of her tall frame. With a gentle tug she managed to free herself before looking around... and there they stood, not more then a few yards away. Well didn't she look like quite the oddball, a red large female nearing an equally sized male and a slender female. She had no idea what to say, she herself was not the type of actually scout for company, but she'd have to do it one day or the other.
Niveda didn't drop her head, or tail, she kept a poised, slightly determined stance as her bright deep jaded eyes looked from the male and then to the female with a soft , roughly put smile on her liver lips. Gently that banner like fluffy tail swayed back and forth in a misplaced type of aura. Those triangular shaped ears were perked forward in utter curiosity for meeting the two new, well new to her, Tartarus dogs.

A lovingly built frame scooted a bit closer to the opposing male, somewhat wanting for heat. A cold breeze swept by, my the hound shiver. A tiring feeling began to envelop her, but she shrugged it off and stifled a yawn.
"If'n I may be ask'n, what's brought ya way out here?"
Sphinx, was not a big fan of western dogs, but the dog beside her attracted the hound for a bit, maybe she had even developed a slight crush, who knows? She does. The Pharaoh Hound was thinking a bit carefully, after a while, she opened her maw to answer, "If you reckon being in Tatarus Pack, well, I just needed somewhere to stay." A honey like voice retorted, light and fluent, "As for this murky swamp, I was just feeling a bit thristy" The Sphinx didn't really want to admit that she was bored. Bored was a terrible feeling, and would leave the male being a bit confused at most. Well, at least that's what she thought.

Sphinx's words found the beasts attention shifted from the slender fae a he caught the sound of another's approach pushing through the thicker troublesome foliage. Even though the canine remained in that relaxed sitting position, those who knew him at all would have noted the tension that lined powerfully built muscles. A slight twist of that cranium brought the deep whiskey of his round until they finally settled on a large red fae. Amusement flashed briefly through those eyes at the newcomers dominate stance. He'd caught sight of the fire furred canine only one other time when she first joined the Hunters of Tartarus. If rumors were to be believed it was the three of them that stood in the running for the Alpha position within their pack.
A smile split a coal dusted muzzle, this might prove to be quite entertaining. "Welcome, Niveda, to this lil' gather'n. Seems the swamps are a popular spot today, arn't they?" That charming little tang announced his origins, but what they didn't reveal was the intensive training that lay hidden in this beasts past. Though it wasn't a secret that the Ridgeback had been a trained police attack and drug dog, it wasn't something he brought up on a daily base or even to the newer members of his pack whom hadn't yet been given the opportunity to spend any time within his company.
It was obvious in the lines of her stance when looking at the red female, one might see the military training if one knew what to look for. Where as the Hound held no such background that he was aware of, that did not mean she was not a worthy opponent. Slender and quick with a bitter attitude most days, the slight fae held a sharp wit. A trait well found in a leader. But that wouldn't be all that would be required, he knew. With a mental shrug he pushed such thoughts from his mind, only time would tell which canine would come out on top, and which would bear the scars, both physical and mental, from the encounter. Idly those intense tarnished gold eyes shifted from one female to the next, his over all demeanor was that complete confidence.

"Welcome, Niveda Slowly she began to tip the points of her ears back slightly, surprised that he even knew her name. It's not like she went about telling everyone who she was, but it certainly pricked her curiosity. Closing one eye she brought her withers down in one solid movement, her muscles working in unison as if all was well coordinated in her head. After doing so she passed the brute a brief nod of her head before glancing back to the smaller, and thinner female.
Niveda bet she could hear better then both her and the ridgeback male, her bat like ears were wide and twitched at given times. The looser strands of her setter like tail just lay out limply against the foliage, nose wrinkled and expanded as she registered both their scents into her mind. Her fore pads seemed to press into the dead leaves on the ground, mud beneath them as she set her weight on them for the time being. Listening quietly she waited for a gap where she could add a word and finally found it to it after the Brute spoke.
"Why.. yes my name is Niveda, but I don't believe I've caught yours.." She stopped her eyes glancing back to the slender female with a genuine smile. "Nor yours Ma`an"
