It cast ghostly shadows here and there, the creepiest coming from the trees that were placed randomly throughout the valley. Soft pants could be heard coming from the large brute who was padding his was down the side of the valley. He wasn't yet read to be out in the open, annoyance spread through his body, filling his veins with heat despite the fact that the morning sun hadn't even begun to rise yet. His ears twitched, tail hanging limp against his rump as he made his was towards the area in which he had set out for earlier that night.
Luckily he had slept a while, and deeply at that earlier that day, other wise her travels would have warn him out completely. After his master, Katherine, had been slaughtered he had changed significantly. She would look at him now and there would be no signs of recognization upon her face. He was a stranger to anyone who knew him before the take over. Black and tan paws begin to move quicker as the memories once again begin to haunt him. He growled, moving forward, quickening his pace. He could almost taste the blood of the dog that had did it, however instead of making him feel better.... he felt worse.
He would have loved to have been on the canines side during the take over, however his master was just a kid. He had a hard time remembering sometimes that she had already been doomed to a painful death, all the dogs did was speed things up. Pushing the past behind him, he stopped walking looking around. He had wondered out into the middle, out into the open without really realizing it. His dial tilted slightly to the side as he took in the world that surround him. On every side of him was natural, open beauty. It was peaceful here... for now.
His through his dial back, maw parting as an eerie howl escaped. It echoed across the empty early morning... and he wondered if anyone was out there at all. If there was another soul awake to hear his call.

As his howl died off, silence settled once more. It was a rather comfortable silence at first, but as more time passed on he grew rather bored of it. He, none-the-less, sat back upon his haunches and curled his tail around his hind leg, chocolate hued eyes surveying the landscape out in front of him. Ears swiveling every which way atop his dial as he listened intently for anything that would be approaching or calling into the night sky. He had howled, which would have gotten the attention of many, many different canines in some parts. The Metnal dogs were dogs that he really wasn't to sure about. More than once he had found himself wondering if he should join their ranks, only to decide that it was not the best of things for him to do. However, he didn't know much about the leader of Barzakh, so for now his lonely soul would remain a loner. He had gotten rather accustomed to his nomad lifestyle.
He stood up and stretched, mouth opening wide with a yawn so big that it made his ears press flat into his skull. He was not exactly tired, but it had felt good and rather refreshing. His tail curled up over his back in its natural position and he was about to head off, on his own little way when another howl sounded in the night. It sounded slightly muffled, and distressed. His head tilted slightly to the side as he begin to pad slowly in the direction in which the panicked noises were coming from, his speed increased with every step until eventually he was running. His mind worried about what could be happening, and why he was actually going to find the dog responsible for such a call, however he knew that part of it was mere foolishness of wanting to be around someone other than himself. When he finally stumbled upon the scene of the a dog trying frantically to struggle their way out of the hole. An invisible eyebrow raised at the scene that was playing out before him.
Massive paws walked over to the dog and stopped right beside her. Wondering if perhaps it would be best to let her know that he was here. However one could highly doubt that she would hear him anyways. A smile touched his kissers as he looked the scene over once more, he had to hold back a laugh that was threatening to spew out of his mouth. He leaned over with his nose, nudging her back leg. "Don't Panic. I will try to dig beside you to make the hole wider." He said, moving to where he was next to her, and his massive paws automatically begin working at the mound of dirt. A smile still plastered across his paw as he fought back the laugh, wondering how one would manage to get their head stuck in a hole.

The vibration of the earth as the unknown canine approached sounded like thunder blasting within her drums, the crust holding the hybrid captive vibrating angrily all around her. Triangular radars fell back against her skull, the openings attempting to lock against the bone of her cranium to block out the deafening noise from above. Optics were hidden behind shades closed so tightly that wrinkles etched their way across the lids. The voice above sounded like some sort of distant echo breaking through the thunderous vibrations of his heavy paw falls, not a single word able to be made out. The muscles held tightly within her hide stiffened freezing the lanky frame into the same position that had been rotating around her earthen cage. Rear stood straight up in the air as if she were simply hanging around, but that long tail told a different story. It was stiff and quivering slightly from the tension coursing through the fibrous tissues of the shepherd wolf mix's bodice. There was somebody above speaking to her, that somebody seemed to be a male from the deep rumbling of the vocals. Surely a stranger, maybe some crazed murderous Metnal member here to attempt to pick her off.
As the first paw smashed into the terra, nails scraping away the top layer near her neck the tension finally became too much. It had built up under her skin, energizing her muscles with adrenaline for only a short moment, but for quite enough time to allow a massive explosion. The limber frame launched into manic spasms lurching backward in an attempt to free her head from it's filthy grave. A deep, venomous set of growls burst from her narrow chest cavity in warning to the stranger. Navea NEVER needed help, especially from strangers. Who did this dog think he was to attempt to "assist" her? Or did he think he was going to steal her rat? That brute had no idea who he was up against! He was in some trouble once she got out of this predicament! Navea had one major downfall that many would have hoped she would grow out of as she matured. No fear. This little fae of mixed heritage thought she could take on the biggest and baddest of the creatures upon the island, and probably leave without a single mark upon her hide. After all of the trouble caused as a pup it was amazing she was still living let alone scar-less from the ordeals.
Finally thanks to the large male her head was spit from the hole with an audible pop. The unexpected release sent the struggling juvenile shooting backward, her front and rear exchanging positions through an series of acrobatic backward somersaults. Momentum was finally lost leaving the Barzakh fae laying on her back, paws dangling over head. Black pupils sunk toward the inner bottom of her sockets, crossing in a dizzy, rather pathetic state. Frantic blinking cleared the vision of winged rats flapping around her head taunting her for her stupidity, allowing her to focus on the much larger dog that had assisted her out of the hole. A single side of her maw lifted in a sneer, brows pulling together in an unimpressed, and annoyed fashion. "You can't have my rat! Go dig your own hole if you want it so bad, ya big ofe!" Most would be appreciative of the male's service, yet this youngster's experiences proved that nobody helped just out of the goodness of their heart. They always wanted something.

His paws stopped digging at the earth as a pop sounded from beside him. His dial turned quickly, catching her exit as she proceed backwards in a series of flips. An invisible eyebrow raised, chocolate eyes filled with amusement even as she stopped. She had landed in a laying position, however she was on her back. She didn't seem to be hurt to bad... her paws where dangling above her cranium and her eyes seemed to be very much frenzied, yet unfocused. His dial tilted to the side, a smile crossing his features as the world slowly came back into focus for the little fae. As a sneer and a look of pure annoyance crossed her features though, the smile faded...and the brute begin to wonder where exactly he had managed to go wrong!
"You can't have my rat! Go dig your own hole if you want it so bad, ya big ofe!"
As the harsh words were spit from the females mouth, a hurt, confused expression crossed Kaden's features. They were quickly replaced, however, with a look of pure annoyance. "If I wanted food your fool I would've simply munched on you. I am not after food, especially something as small and filthy as a rat." The lyrics danced off his tongue in deep yet charming tones, his hackles raising due to her ungratefulness. "Don't you know that is no way to treat someone who just saved your life?" |
[/color] He didn't move from his spot... he was not threatened by here... just merely annoyed. Part of him wished he had just left her there... however another part of him comforted him. He had done the right thing... now she would be safe from whatever dangers were lurking around unseen. ooc; sorry for the shortness. Large receptors folded themselves back against her skull as he simply scolded her words. That's it? No reaction? Well now that was rather boring wasn't it? Navea missed the old days when her and her friend would go off tormenting the adults and getting their fur in a twist. It use to be so easy. What was wrong with those around here? Too calm, too relaxed. Maybe the humans would return some day and add some more fun back into her life. With that a loud snort forced air and droplets of mucus from her nares. Her lanky frame shook wildly back and forth cleaning the short, coarse pelt from the debris that collected there during her acrobatic stunt.
Stilt like limbs carried her toward the large Tibetan Mastiff in a slightly clumsy fashion. She didn't have the grace that many would expect a dog with a ballerina's build to have. Her thin plume stayed angled slightly above her haunches, tall receptors pushed forward as she approached. Orbs were narrowed into slits as she visually investigated the much larger dog, brows casting shadows over irises as they slipped across his frame. The hybrid froze nearly nose to his shoulder, her chest expanding as she pulled in his scent. He surely wasn't Barzakh that was for sure. Truth be told that was the only scent she really knew of. Other then loners it was the only distinctive scent she had encountered in her short life. Her cranium cocked to the right slightly gaze locking upon his own, "You ain't Metnal now are you?" A look of disgust painted her features as she spat the opposing pack's name. Still no appreciation for saving her life. But it was typical Navea.
