Light derbis crunched beneath the paws of a long legged figure. The sun was beginning to set behind the rotting buildings, as the female crossed the lands, looking for any sign of life at all. Finally, the black figured stopped her trotting pace to look around. Her Doberman tail curved slightly, as it had not been docked like so many other Dobermans'. Her ears hadn't been cropped either, making her as natural as the earth. There were brown points of the young female. All four paws had a tan color, as well as around her muzzle which traced down under her chin and neck, on the inside of her hind legs, two small dots above her eyes, and even on the side of her face. She was taller than most female Dobermans. A trait she had gotten from her father, whom was rather large, thanks to abnormally large parents.
Finally, there was nothing but blackness, and the female decided to be on her way through this place of hell. She was hungry, as her journey made her delay times for food. However, she knew that she wasn't going to find any food here. Or at least, not enough to fill her. She was about to turn around when a strange smell entered her nostrils. She dropped her head to the ground and sniffed. It was something dead, and being as curious as she was, she wanted to find what it was. She began sniffing at the scent more and more until she tracked it to an open door to a house. She looked around. The door was not open, but the hinges had rotted and fell. She stepped over it and went through the house until she found the source. Bones and flesh lay of a canine.
With a lifted head, the femmora backed from the source and turned with sad brown eyes. She stepped into the fresh air and then ran from the building, long legs carrying her at a fast, steady pace. Finally, she stopped to look around her. Her tongue hung out of her mouth and she lowered her head to whimper. "Why is the world this way?" She asked before she began walking forward, head still hung. She then lifted her crania to look at the star dotted, midnight blue, sky. She let sorrow fill her brown orbs, and they lightened a bit, allowing the black stripes to be more definite. "Things use to not be like this. So, why are they now? What went wrong? Why don't some of use canines see the good in some people? Especially the children..." She said. She sighed then. "Those children were so innocent. Only following in the steps of their parents... But some had dogs. Are there humans still alive? Maru? Are you listening to me? Can you please tell me? Are there any good people left in the world?" She asked.
Aki had a belief. That the dead could hear their loved. Maru had been her master. She knew that he could tell a good man from a bad man, if he had the chance. But, that rich man, Samuel, hadn't given him that chance. All the dogs had felt it, but since talking to a dog was barking to a human, they couldn't tell him what was wrong, but each time that horrid man came by their new home, all the dogs would growl and walk beside their owner. However, Samuel had finally decided to be brave, and ignore the fact that the dogs were right there at all times, and of course, attacked Maru, beating him to death. It was this memory that caused a growl of hatred to escape Aki. She even remembered his first words.
Aki had been gaining her personality, and was now eight weeks old. Maru thought it was time to finally name her. He couldn't decide between Bara, meaning rose, or Aki, meaning Autumn. So, he named her Aki no Bara. Meaning? Autumn Rose. She was as beautiful as a rose, but bloomed more in the autumn. Hence the reason for her name.
It was now that a rabbit crossed the femme's path. She looked down at it, and despite her growling stomach, she ignored it. The depression of her long lost owner caused her heart to scream for him. She knew that she'd be a dead dog if he hadn't been killed by Samuel. She would have given her two year old life to protect him. Not caring about the fact that she was being killed. If it meant a chance for Maru to escape, she would take it. However, she had not had that worry placed on her. Instead, she was free to let her heart not hurt for those that were killed, or those that had been killed. But now, her heart was changing. She wished at least someone was left alive.
After a while, Aki found a nice spot to rest. It was an old house. Very unstable. But, Aki did not care. Instead, she went inside and laid down in the corner of one of the rooms. Her forepaws stretched out before her, and her back legs were tucked under her. She rested her dainty head on her paws and then closed her eyes. With a heaved sigh, she let her empty mind take over. Letting the nightmares fill her head, as they always did. Something that never changed. Something she wished would change. The nightmare of Maru's death, and when she and her friends killed Samuel. Nightmares that should now be dead. Nightmares that couldn't be fought off.

Night was falling swiftly upon the lands, the sun retreating hastily in an attempt to rest. The day had been near torture with the beating warmth of the yellow rays working overtime. No wonder why the burning ball was so tired after it's long day of work. The thought of returning home crossed the mastiff's mind as he had been gone for the entire day, leaving his post unattended. Who would dare trespass now after the three Elysian mutts had been made examples of, two with death and one with near fatal wounds? The pathetic creatures who dared called themselves dogs would most likely be steering clear of Metnal boarders as well as the freelands surrounding the territory for quite some time after that show. The thought of what the scene must have looked like forced a small smirk across his broad maw. How he wished he had got a chance to participate in the murder of the deplorable mongrels, and to witness that gullible Rottweiler's expression when he found out all he knew was a lie. How was it to have your entire life nothing but false knowledge? To have the one you took lives for betray you? This was most likely something Luciano would never know. Killing was most amusing to the white beast.
Perhaps this is why he found himself upon the lands of the village instead of on lookout upon the devil's ridge as he should be...murder. He had missed out on the fun and now the taste for something amusing teased his pallet. Massive paws pressed with a surprising amount of silence into the sandy soil, leaving large impressions tattooed in mother earth's hide along his trail. A wide cranium was held high upon a muscular neck offering the Dogo Argentino a better view of the expanse of blackness before him, pupils contracting and expanding as they focused upon the rotting abodes and then back into the distance. A matching pair of thorns stood upright upon their roost, pirouetting separately to take in each and ever rustle of leaves. It was noted that the wind god must be in quite a playful mood this evening, his fingers finding their way under the short alabaster guard hairs encasing the demon's hide. His presence normally would annoy the Latin canine, yet after such a blistering day the strong winds were most welcome.
Finally a quick movement in the distance caught the warrior's attention, chocolate pools washing toward the blur and locking upon it's form as it took off from one of the old buildings. The slow, leisurely walk switched into several quick paced steps as the instincts embedded deep within this gladiator crept their way into his muscles. The trot didn't last long before control soothed the urge to take chase and wrestle the creature to the ground just for the challenge, as he wasn't quite hungry enough to hunt now. It took only a split second for the moon's beams to dance upon the swift frame and offer the curious Metnal male an opportunity to view what it was that he had unintentionally begun stalking. A leanly muscled, feminine frame filled his vision pulling a different interest. Murder of the body was no longer the game he wished for today, murder of the heart was much more amusing. Black tiers pulled backward in a smirk allowing his own pace to leave a greater distance between himself and his new target in order to prevent being noticed by the doberman bitch.
Slowly he slithered through the shadows, steps of complete silence carrying him along the fae's trail waiting for the perfect moment to make his move. As the male trailed her he noted the depressed aura surrounding her entire being. Sadness seemed to engulf the beauty, which offered him even more desire. Such negative emotions drew the beast in, like an aphrodisiac for the mastiff. Movement paused, gaze evaluating the victim's choice to enter the abandoned human home. Senses strained to investigate the house from the distance, being sure that she was indeed alone within the confines of the wooden structure. The only sounds were of her soft breath and settling beckoning the mascu forward, begging him to join her. Long, ground eating strides thrust his body forward, quietly pulling him through the entry way still holding his hushed mannerisms. There in the doorway he paused, chocolate optics locking upon the resting female that blended so well with the night. A rather charming smile snaked across his features, Latin lyrics rolling smoothly toward the nearly asleep fae, "You are alone, aye? Not the safest around here, no, Bella?"

The femme could feel a presence around the dead home. She knew someone was around, but hadn't expected them to go forth to her. When lyrics were spoke, with a latin accent, a low growl escaped the lady and she opened her now dark eyes, glancing up at the stranger. The masculine before her held a charming smile, but the aura around him was not that of a charmer. But something else. Something that wasn't good. Seeing through his fascade was quite easy. The look that played in his eyes was not one of care or love; nor was it one that she hadn't seen before. As a matter of fact, she had seen it before. On the muzzle of her beloved friend Kuroi Taiyo.
Aki didn't speak, for she found no reason to. This male had clearly come for one reason. A lone female. Why not have fun? Though Aki didn't rightfully trust males; and with good reason, she wasn't right to judge a male so early. Especially in this day and age. They were all different in their way. Clearly she had found this masculine's difference. He liked to pretend to be something he was not. However, his eyes and body language gave the creamy white away. Almost as if he were an open book with large letters printed on every page. Letters that spelled words that couldn't not be seen. Aki was reading everything about this male. She watched him, waiting for something, but she didn't speak yet.
Though Aki was young, she had taught herself to be strong and fearless. With first impressions, she showed only her bad side. Once the being got to know her, however, she would often times show her true side. But, Aki was careful with whom she opened up to; and for good reason. Finally, the female stood and looked into the male's eyes. Almost as if she were trying to look into the male's very soul. Soon, she saw it time to speak, as silence had settled oh so comfortably around them; and it was rather disturbing.
"Yes. I am alone." She said in a hard voice. She then glared at him. "Also, what is my safety to you? You don't even know me, so there is no true way you can care, so why ask like you are concerned?" She half snarled before getting to her all fours. Her sleek body seemed so much more feminine compared to his, but beneath her coat of beauty were muscles of steel.
Aki never realxed, for she knew better. Instead, she kept her hind end away from the male, and was alert the entire time. She had learned to never let her guard down when in the presence of a male. She had learned it the hard way, but still, she had indeed learned. Aki was so tensed and ready for anything, and she was letting her senses run wild. Her hearing was better than it was earlier, and she could hear the wind outside blowing, and even the scamper of a rat across the floor. Her sense of smell improved as well. Now, the dead canine that she had spotted earlier was crystal clear in scent, and so was this male, and the rat fecies. Even the mold that had crept it's way into the house walls was available for scent.
Aki had honestly never let her senses roam so freely. However, being alone for an entire year, with only the ocassional scuffle with another canine; wolves mostly, taught her to be strong, and even taught her to let her instincts be her boss when she encountered a stranger. So, her eyesight as well improved. She could make out the male figure as if it were daylight, and they were standing outside. It actually amazed the lady a bit.
Finally, the Doberman grew tired of the silence and let a low growl escape her once more. She hated it when a male came around, spoke once, she replied, and then everything grew quiet. Generally to her, that meant that the male was no good. Then again, perhaps the silence hadn't been settled for so long. Giving attention to everything around her may have made it seem like it was longer than it really was. Everything even seemed to darken, and through an open window, Aki glanced out to see the moon beginning to be covered by a small cloud which removed itself in a matter of seconds and then, the silver stream of rays came back into the high window. Mother Moon had finally taken her rightful place in the middle of the sky, and it was there she would relax for a few hours, and then begin her retreat, allowing Father Sun to have his shift.

[bg=666666][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=background,http://i50.tinypic.com/2gvoj74.jpg] A single cropped auditory swiveled toward the outside world taking in the silence. He was quite surprised at how the village had become so quiet. The only sounds breaking what could have proved to be a deafening nothingness was the distant waves crashing angrily into the white sandy shores of the island. The night time songs of crickets did not even play this evening. It was a rather odd thing to occur so early in the darkness. Perhaps those nearby were not use to the canines stalking through the ghost town during night fall sending them all on edge.
A low growl in response to the white mastiff's words drew that smile even further along contrasting lips. Small brows elevated skyward in mock surprise at the uninviting sound that vibrated against twin receptors. Brown pools set against a snowy landscape locked upon the dark eyes as shades flipped open in apparent irritation, an unfazed expression touching the irises while the watched the scene before them. This was a rather quiet fae he noted, which could be just as entertaining as one holding a feisty personality. Luciano appreciated each and every female for what they were. Though more so those that held beauty. The personality of the bitch made no difference, his games could be twisted to fit the best and worst of scenarios. This particular fae obviously needed to learn to trust the dog before opening to him and so trust he shall earn.
The Metnal warrior stood his ground, form never faltering from that of which it held upon first finding roost here in the doorway of the old, unwillingly abandoned wooden structure. Thick muscles lay against his skeleton relaxed with only the occasional ripple as a pesky insect decided to land upon his short, sleek pelt. The only change upon his being as the fae stood to meet his gaze at a closer level was the slow shift of the bull whip hanging between angled hocks. His smile faded slowly as her sweet voice chimed effortlessly through the space, a broad skull fell only slightly off axis considering her words. An almost pained flash of emotion touched oculars as the questions flowed from the beauty. She wondered how he could have concern for her, why he would care, and surely the main question that had not yet made an audible appearance was what his plan with her was.
A deep set chest expanded, the gasses pulled inward with a deep breath released in a soft sigh as the snarling voice laced with hidden accusations allowed the silence to take over once more. Wrinkles creased a wide forehead, a typical sign of concern or worry as he began to offer answers to her interrogation, "I apologize if I have offended you. It is just a shame that you would be here without any others." His gaze washed over her frame before returning to meet her own the waves within his skin clearing to quirk a single brow, "I'm sure you can handle yourself, though there are safety in numbers. There are some mighty nasty creatures on the island."
With that his rear dropped to meet the wooden platform below with an audible thump. He had no intentions of leaving her despite the obvious warnings from the fae. He couldn't let her be alone tonight, especially not with the silence draping over the darkness. He couldn't allow another beast to take her.
