[bg=666666][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=background,http://i46.tinypic.com/j968hx.jpg] "We all have made our mistakes I am sure," The fawned Fae said to him as she suddenly appeared by his side. He kept his gaze straight forward; feeling her brush against his fur lightly. Both basked in their own thoughts for a while, the awkward silence tripping over and over on top of them as they stood. He appreciated the comfort, as awkward as it was. "I would presume you have learned from the mistake you had made. If it were even a mistake." He looked back at her just as she rose her head, their eyes locking for a good moment. He searched her eyes for a while, then it was he who broke away, turning back to the sea of green before them. Yeah, he had learned. He had learned to shut out his heart. He had learned to be ice cold and not give a damn about anyone. He had learned to be a fearsome creature that haunted the dreams of pups around. Hence why he was able to survive on his own for so long. If not, he'd surely perish.
"Maybe it was simply a way to open the door to a new and improved life?" She pointed out and Maximus grinned. What was this? Optimistic thinking? And no less from the one whom they called Demoness. He wouldn't rub this in her face though. She was offering condolences and he'd be wise to take them without remark.
"Whether it is or not, I'm not worried. He told her with a newly sparked smirk. His ears erected into a new stance of dignity and he bristled slightly. "Because the fact of the matter is that I'm still alive. And not even the King of hell can stand against my fangs." He chuckled, trying to dispel the awkward seriousness that their conversation had turned into. Yeah, he was sad, he was pissed and ultimately disgusted. But he was alive and nothing could keep him from living. Not even the pain of the past. Besides, what else was he going to do, sit around on his ass and mope all day long? Naw, he'd leave that to the pansy and weak-hearted. He stayed away from serious conversations. They didn't suit him well and rubbed against him like an irritant. He didn't need depression in a sappy world such as this.
"We take what we can handle, right? His blood-honey eyes flashed toward her. "I'm not usually one for complaining. It's unsightly.

Her very own odd behavior was annoying the fae and she was quite relieved when the mascu broke the awkwardness. A sly smirk slithered along gray lips, tugging lightly at the corners of her mouth to mirror his. Her receptors pirouetted upon her skull to land upon the words that finally broke the long silence. Ah yes, back to acting like their normal selves. Well, normal for the first 3/4 of the short time they've known each other anyhow. The joking comments escaping him,""Because the fact of the matter is that I'm still alive. And not even the King of hell can stand against my fangs." forced her smile to widen and brighten with amusement. A sparkle danced along her irises as he pushed the pair into a new direction. A few crossings of her lengthy limbs pulled her another pace away from his resting place, a brow quirking teasingly at him Her neck craned, moist digit nudging his shoulder roughly, "Maybe not the king...but this princess is another story." A single shade dropped over her right eye, opening in a playful wink. He had seemed worthy of a good teasing. And although she consistently enjoyed a waltz with death's shadow she truly did not wish to die. He had proven that murder was not on his agenda this day in regards to the domestic fae that had attempted to push him over the edge and failed. So why not some light teasing? On the outside it appeared that her guard was down, her entire bodice loose and relaxed compared to their first exchange. Within she was constantly on guard even if it were now sucked deeper within her being, it was ever present.
The phenomena of a sliver of care from the female was now a distant memory or at least to herself. Perhaps it would be another 4 years before she would have to deal with such again. Sly remark after sly remark was spewed toward him. "We take what we can handle, right?" Her gaze willingly met his as he focused upon her features once more."Or at least have fun trying like hell to handle it, hm? There's nothing more amusing then formidable opponent whether it be a being or life itself." A few steps were taken away upon springy paws. It was obvious that she had received what she needed for now. The little something different in her life to break the monotony. It wasn't much really, but after so long of the same game, the same faces day after day even this small amount of change was needed even if it were to only last a moment in time. The newly rejuvenated fae paused as she lengthened the distance by a few feet, her head twisting to throw a curious gaze over her shoulder, "And after I run off and leave you here heartbroken where do you believe you will travel to next? That teasing smile lit her features once more, yet she was indeed interested on his future whereabouts. If an occasional face off with this brute was what she needed to keep herself sane (in her opinion anyway) she would need to be able to locate him without spending to much effort tracking him. She was too important to waste her time with such nonsense.

[bg=666666][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=background,http://i46.tinypic.com/j968hx.jpg] "Maybe not the king...but this princess is another story." The demoness winked at him. He gave her a caustic grin and a few chuckles.
"Aye, ma'am. Maybe so..." He replied flirtatiously. She was entertaining by far. It was quite refreshing to him after all these years of alone time. Not that it bothered him.
"Or at least have fun trying like hell to handle it, hm? There's nothing more amusing then formidable opponent whether it be a being or life itself." He looked her up and down after she had stated such. Now what was that supposed to mean? She was simply toying with him much more than he with she. Now was that fair? Then again, life was rarely fair. If it was, everyone would be either happy... Or dead. That's just the way the world worked. Like it or not. Maximus watched the doberman spring to life suddenly, lighter on her paws than a butterfly inair. He smirked at her movements, not bad. He wondered how she fought. Lightning speed, he could imagine. Deadly, while he was pure mass and imagination.
"And after I run off and leave you here heartbroken where do you believe you will travel to next? She gave him a sassy pose with her eyes gleaming at him. He raised a brow and lifted his head slightly in humor.
"Oh there is always another little doxy on the street in need of a good scare." He joked in a husky voice. "I'm just a figment of your imagination remember? The nightmare in every little whelps dream." He backed away slowly, a jackal's smile on his face and it seemed that he would have dissolved into nothingness as if he truly were a dream. Had it been a drama story, one shouldn't be surprised if haze began to settle around his paws. His head lowered and his ears erected. "I'm sure your dreams will be sweet though..."

The two remaining vertebrae, forming a tail shifted left to right for just a moment to the joking nature. The smile now split her maw at his words, "Oh there is always another little doxy on the street in need of a good scare." A snicker escaped her thin maw as their first encounter was reenacted within her mind. Long radars found themselves falling back against her feminine skull as her voice chimed attempting to hide the intrigue, "Well, Maximus, I sure hope that you are more successful in your next adventure of fright than this one." It was a sincere wish as nothing pleased her more than the power to control one's fears. Her decision to move home wavered, dropping back to her haunches and the beguilement dissipating as she considered her next move. She wasn't ready to go home just yet. The princess needed to find something to ease her desire. The desire for sweet blood was to great. She had to quench the burn scouring her insides, her mind. A honey-hued gaze shifted over the lands as she silently contemplated her next destination. The most fun would be easy to locate, yet not the wisest amusement park for the lone fae. That would have to wait until her pack was larger and stronger. Loners. Her original plan upon her crossing the boarders of the Metnal lands would have to continue.
The contemplation on lasted a fraction of a second, his next words jolting her attentions back to the suave brute that was slowly increasing the distance between the two dark creatures. A minuscule smirk tugged at one side of her maw, almost so small that it was unnoticeable. Her auds pushed toward him to their fullest extent, her chin tucking toward her chest in a bashful affectation. Erida was a professional at the sweet, innocent maiden facade and it was taken without much thought at this point in her life. The small smile spread ever so slightly, a single brow drew skyward, "Now isn't it funny how most's nightmares can be another's dreams?" Her gaze locked upon him only for a moment before returning toward the western horizon toward the familiar canyon split the island nearly in half as she mentally noted her next stop on her unplanned trip.
