Not bothering to wait for male company that charcoal tipped snow white muzzle found itself pressed to the earth pits flared to draw in deep the scents she found there. That lean furred frame was held low to the ground tail held stiffly out as she caught the scent of a decent sized herd of does. Usually when she hunted with Eugene she'd use her herding instincts to break a single member from the herd and drive them right into the black brutes waiting jaws. But with the fox along she wasn't entirely sure how her comrade would want to handle this hunt so she'd hang back, up wind of the unsuspecting herd.
She heard his approach, after so many years of each others company she'd come to know his distinguished stride, however subtle it might be. Without even bothering to check where he went since she naturally assumed he would come up along her side she'd speak quietly. "Deer, other side of this rise. Bucks off on the far side of the clearing with the herd between us and him. What do you think?"
Muscles beneath that ivory pelt trembled with excitement even as her belly cramped at the thought of fresh warm red meat. After she'd delivered her message she'd crouch low to the ground, slender limbs lifting and falling only mere inches from the blanketed forest floor. The barest whisper of sound, as the white canine made her way up the slight slope before finally coming to rest amid the thick underbrush skirting a tiny meadow where ten does nibbled on the grass. Some more alert then others. Cranium twisted to cast the midnight fire of her gaze over her shoulder towards her black companion and the smaller red fox whose name she hadn't quite caught. With a slight tilt of that skull she made her question clear. What tactic shall they use this time?
